Comments From the Other Side - Hawks 12/16
Friday, December 17, 2010
by FLCeltsFan 9:53 AM
Lots more complaining about the refs from Hawks fans. The refs did let a lot of contact go, but just like in the Knicks game, they were letting a lot go on both sides. The Hawks took 24 FT attempts to 11 for the Celtics and they were complaining?? Funny how they mostly talked about Shaq and Rondo being out but ignored the fact that JO, Perk and Delonte are also out. They may have had 2 key players out, but the Celtics had 5 key players out. And of course there are "The Celtices are Old" comments as always. Some good comments and a good game.... enjoy!
I think the injuries are just too much for the Hawks to overcome tonight. I just hope they play hard.
Nothing is as painful as watching Bibby shuffle down the court. He has no athletic ability to move. He can shoot though.
Of course Rondo is going to go tonight. LD never plays Teague, so Bibby is going to be checking Rondo all night. Even hobbled, Rondo can blow by Bibby…
Someone needs to frustrate ray Allen I like ray but dude is a nasty competitor
Marvin said he shows up to the arena an hour before Ray Allen shows up at like noon and shoots jumpers and has his daily meal and does his daily rituals Shows who has been an all star and who hasn’t.
Their streak started with us And it ends with us
The Celtics are playing back to back and they are old. We just need to run them all game and by the end they will give up. Read more »

Celtics look for 12th Straight Win as the Host the Hawks

 at
Atlanta Hawks (16-10) at Boston Celtics (20-4)
Thursday, December 16
8:00 PM ET
Regular Season Game #25, Home Game #12
TV: TNT, CSNNE, TSN2
Radio: WEEI, WQXI
TD Garden Referees: Greg Willard, Mark Ayotte, David Jones Last Season the Hawks won the season series 4-0. It marked the first time since the 1998-99 season that the Celtics had been swept by the Hawks and only the fourth time since the 1960-61 season that the C’s had failed to win a game against Atlanta. This season started differently with the Celtics notching a 99-76 win in Atlanta in their first meeting.
With Rondo adding a sprained ankle along with the hamstring, knee and foot injuries, Doc needs to sit him for this game. Rondo said he was going to try to play, but it would be in the best interest of the team and Rondo to sit him for this one. Nate did a great job of filling in at the point the first time these two met and he should be able to do so again in this one. Avery Bradley is also waiting in the wings to help out at the point. The Hawks are playing without their star guard Joe Johnson and will also be without Jamal Crawford who was a key player for them off the bench. The Celtics are playing without several key players including Shaq, Jermaine, Delonte, and Perk.
The Celtics are playing in the second of back to back games after having had a 3 day rest before that. The Hawks have had one day off after a 103-80 loss to the Pistons. The Celtics are 10-0 in their last 10 games while the Haws are 7-3 in their last 10.

Comments From the Other Side - Knicks 12/15
by FLCeltsFan 1:32 PM

Some really fun stuff in the comments from around the Knicks boards. Of course they start out with all the talk about how old the Celtics are and how they can't keep up. Lots of bravado at first, especially when they built a couple of early leads. Knicks fans sure are a whiny bunch, though. They did a lot of complaining about the refs in spite of shooting 5 more FT's than the Celtics. In truth I complained a bit about some non-calls for the Celtics until I realized they were letting a lot go on both teams. At least there was one non-delusional fan who realized it was their own lack of defense that cost them and not the refs and not the clock. I love how they can't wait to meet the Celtics again. Be careful what you wish for. By that time we'll more than likely have Perk, JO, and Shaq back and getting to the hoop won't be near as easy. Enjoy NY edition of Comments from the Other Side....
We gotta take this game....sick of all the trash talk Pierce/KG do, We need to come out gunning and take this one
I think we can win this one, we usually play well against the Celtics, all (or almost all) of our games against them the past couple of years have been close.
Let's show these Celtics who the real warriors of the Atalntic division are.
We should be able to pull this off, but Celtics uses a lot more players than D'Antoni so fatigue might cost us the game.
I'm sure they will throw different styles of zones at us tomorrow.
There is no way KG's pride allows him to play zone D
All we need to do to have a chance in this game is to run run and run! The Celtics are too old and slow for us.
RUN, RUN, RUN...Celts will die in the 4th quarter!

Celtics and Knicks Clash at the Other Garden

Boston Celtics (19-4) at New York Knicks (16-9)
Wednesday, December 15
7:00 PM ET
Regular Season Game #24 – Road Game #13
TV: ESPN, CSNNE, MSG
Radio: WEEI
Madison Square Garden Referees: Bill Kennedy, Courtney Kirkland, Leroy Richardson This is the second meeting between these two divisional foes. The Celtics have been clear that they don't consider the Knicks rivals, in spite of the history between these 2 storied franchises. In their first meeting, the Celtics came out on top 105-101 in Boston.
The Knicks have their offense in high gear and are averaging 107.7 points per game, second only to the Suns. But they are also allowing 106.6 points per game. The Celtics on the other hand have made defense their calling card. They score 100.7 points per game but allow only 91 points for their opponents.
The Celtics are on a 10 game win streak while the Knicks have an 8 game win streak of their own. The Celtics are still very short handed up front coming into this game with Shaq and Jermaine still out along with Perk and Delonte. The Knicks are almost at full strength with just Azubuike the only one out. Read more »
