Comments From the Other Side - Bulls 12/3
by FLCeltsFan 9:57 AM
Lots of complaints about the refs from Chicago fans. I thought the refs let a lot go on both sides last night and weren't that bad, even if it was Bill Kennedy. I loved how they started out about how Rondo's garbage and how much better Rose is and ended up talking about how much better Rondo is than Rose. Some good stuff and they are always better when we come out on top. Enjoy today's Comments from the Other Side....
We better win this one.
I really don't see us wining this game, but most of the time I'm wrong so go bulls.
This time we get revenge. We got boozer.
Ugh. Why do we have to be at Boston again?
God I hate playing Boston
We have to win this or I'll be super depressed

Celtics Host Pesky Bulls
by FLCeltsFan 12:24 PM
Chicago Bulls (9-7) at Boston Celtics (14-4)
Friday, December 3
8:00 PM ET
Game #19, Home Game #10
TV: ESPN, CSN-C, CSNNE
Radio: WEEI, WMVP
TD Garden
Referees: Bill Kennedy, Curtis Blair, LeRoy Richardson
The Celtics will welcome a couple of familiar faces when the Bulls come to visit the Garden. Tom Thibodeau, who was credited with the defense that
led the Celtics to their 17th championship is coming back to the Garden for his second game as the Bulls' head coach. Brian Scalabrine, who was a fan favorite in Boston for 5 seasons, has joined Thibs in Chicago but with the return of Carlos Boozer from his injury, Scal was on the inactive list for the last game.
In the first meeting between these two teams, the Celtics came out on top 110-105 in overtime. The Celtics had 7 players in double figures in that game and were led by Ray Allen with 25. Noah led the Bulls with 25 points and 12 rebounds and Derrick Rose added 18 points and 9 assists.
The Celtics come into this game on a 5 game winning streak while the Bulls are coming off a 107-78 loss to Orlando. The Celtics are 8-1 at home while the Bulls are 4-5 on the road. The Bulls are healthy with no injuries to report while the Celtics are battling multiple injuries. Both Nate and Rajon are battling foot injuries along with Rajon's hamstring continuing to be a concern. Jermaine O'Neal remains on the sidelines along with Perk and now Delonte West joins them with the wrist injury.
The Bulls will be looking to avenge their previous loss to the Celtics as well as to bounce back from their embarrassing loss to the Magic in their last game. The Celtics will be looking to continue their win streak as well as to remain dominant at home. Read more »

Comments From the Other Side - Blazers 12/1
Thursday, December 2, 2010
by FLCeltsFan 9:31 AM
You have to feel some for Portland fans. The Blazers have been hit hard with injuries. They get the number 1 pick and then never get to see him play because he's been injured ever since. That comment about expecting a piano to drop on the team at kind of sums up their mindset right now. But then again, the Celtics have been hit with injuries too. We have 2 centers on the shelf right now. We have a key bench contributor out. And our two PG's right now are playing hurt. We aren't going to get much sympathy either. The comment about Roy's BBIQ being ruined by his knees absolutely cracked me up. Enjoy this version of Comments from the Other Side...
Can we please play 6 players at a time?
I don't see why not. It's in the hardship exception, right?
I wish we still had Pendy or Howard for this game just to goad Garnett into a fight, and then kick his ass.
Celtics blowout.
We are a major underdog tonight
Boston has 79% chance to win
We have 21% chance to win
So you're saying we have a chance? I'll take it.

Hot Celtics Host Blazers
Wednesday, December 1, 2010
by FLCeltsFan 1:01 PM
Portland Trailblazers (8-9) at Boson Celtics (13-4)
Wednesday, December 1
7:30 PM ET
Game #18, Home Game #9
TV: CSNNE, CSN-POR, NBA-TV
Radio: WEEI, KXTG
TD Garden
Referees: Tom Washington, Derek Richardson, Leon Wood
The Portland Trailblazers are making their only visit to the Garden tonight. This is the first meeting between the two teams with the Celtics making their visit to Portland on January 27. The Blazers are 4-5 on the road while the Celtics are 7-1 at home.
Both teams are playing in the second of back to back games and both teams had to travel after their previous game. Portland lost in Philly while the Celtics won in Cleveland on Tuesday night. The Celtics starters played limited minutes in their game while the Blazers starters all played over 30 minutes in their loss to the Sixers. The Blazers have a youth advantage but the Celtics have an experience advantage.
The Celtics have won 9 of the last 10 games between these two teams. Last season, the Celtics won the series 2‐0 with Paul Pierce leading the Celtics with an average of 16.5 points while shooting 50.0% from three‐point range. Rajon Rondo added a double‐double effort with 14.5 points and 10.0 assists to go along with 2.5 steals per game. Andre Miller led the Blazers with 22.0 points and 5.0 assists per game. LaMarcus Aldridge averaged 17.0 points and a team‐high 9.5 rebounds per game.
Portland’s .402 (39-58) all-time winning percentage against Boston is its lowest mark among all current NBA opponents. The Celtics are the NBA’s only active team with a winning record in Portland (26-23).

Comments From the Other Side - Cavs 11/30
by FLCeltsFan 10:16 AM

Cavs fans are totally focused on the Heat game. They wanted to beat the Celtics because it would give them momentum going into that game. I really didn't blame Cavs fans for complaining about the officials. There were some pretty bad calls, most of which favored the Celtics. But then again there were some times when the Celtics got mugged with no call either. But, that foul they gave Rondo where he shot 3 free throws was ridiculous. Rondo actually initiated the contact and then tossed up the ball after the whistle. After what LeBron did to them, I find it hard to dislike Cleveland but still happy to beat them handily. Now, I can root for them on Thursday. Enjoy today's double dip of Comments from the Other Side....
Can't wait to see the Mo-Rondo matchup we missed in the opener.
I'm hoping the JJ of game one shows up again tonight.
I'm not really liking our chances here. Boston will be ready after we beat them last time and I doubt the team will be as fired up.
If I was putting money on this game I'd pick Boston.
The Celtics in my opinion are the 2nd best team in the NBA and if focused will beat the Cavs. However, it's not exactly easy for a team of Boston's caliber to get up for a team like Cleveland. I'm guessing a close first half with Boston pulling away in the 2nd half.
Rondo is still banged up and JO'Neal and DWest are out. I think this is a good chance of beating them being shorthanded. If the team is focused they could make a huge statement this week by beating Boston and Miami. Now if they're looking ahead to Thursday they could get ran out of the building.
If we fall too far behind by the 3rd, I wouldn't object to just throwing in the towel(just this one time) and rest up for Thursday.
I hope we can pull this out.. It will carry a ton of momentum in our favor en-route to the Heat game. Read more »

Celtics Return to the Scene of their First Loss of the Season
Tuesday, November 30, 2010
by FLCeltsFan 2:12 PM
Boston Celtics (12-4) at Cleveland Cavaliers (7-9)
Tuesday, November 30
7:00 PM ET
Game #17, Away Game #9
TV: CSNNE, FSO, NBAC, NBA-TV
Radio: WTAM, WEEI
Quicken Loans Arena
Referees: Dick Bavetta, Kevin Cutler, John Goble
When last these two teams met, the Celtics were coming off a very emotional opening night win over the Heat and the Cavs were playing in their home and season opener. The Cavs played with a lot of emotion and the Celtics didn't. That resulted in the Celtics' 87-95 loss, their first of the season. The Cavs now are looking toward a very emotional game on Thursday as LeBron comes back to Cleveland for the first time.
Both teams come into this one well rested. The Celtics last played on Friday and the Cavs last played on Saturday. The emotional boost of the home opener and seeing the Heat fall in their season opener have worn off since they last met. The Celtics are dealing with injuries that have weakened their bench while the Cavs are healthy with no injuries to report.
The Celtics have won their last 3 games while the Cavs beat the Grizzlies in their last game but are just 4-6 in their last 10 games. The Celtics will be looking to avenge that first loss. Anything less than a full effort from them in this game would be unacceptable. Read more »
