Comments From the Other Side - Raptors 11/26
Saturday, November 27, 2010
by FLCeltsFan 10:03 AM
There are always plenty of comments from Raptors fans during games. They have the most and longest game threads of any team in the league. They are very quick to turn on their own team when they are losing though. And it is very clear that KG is enemy #1 in Raptor country and that they recognize the damage that Rondo can do in a game. There was some complaints about the officiating but I thought the refs missed stuff both ways. I loved the last comment. The rally cry for all the losing teams this season: "At least we're not Miami." Too funny!
I will predict that KG will be trying one of his doggy tricks in this game. Reggie will take out his his paddle and spank him over the head. Both KG and Reggie will not finish the game.
As close to a guaranteed loss as you can get IMO.
The Celts are going to be pissed that they lost the last one.
Delonte West broke his wrist and will be out the rest of the season. So Rondo/West out leaves the Boston back court very weak. I doubt they will keep up with Jose/Bayless/Barbosa
Rondo's not playing Nate has been playing good, but he is no Rondo and doesn't facilitate their offence like he does, I'm guessing KG will try to play better against Bargnani after getting dominated last game, but we still have a decent shot at winning this game I think..
The refs will keep us in it until the 4th quarter. Keeps the fan interest up.
We're taking this game. With our renewed (or newfound) sense of pride, I think the boys are going to use their youth and speed to tire this team out

Raptors Visit the Jungle

Toronto Raptors (6-9) at Boston Celtics (11-4)
Friday, November 26
7:30 PM ET
Game #16, Home Game #8
TV: TSN2, CSNNE, NBA-LP 753
Radio: CJCL, WEEI
TD Garden The Celtics took the short handed Raptors for granted in their last meeting and they got burned. The Raptors have won their last 4 games and so it would be very wise of the Celtics not to underestimate this team again.
The Raptors won the last game on free throws after a couple of controversial calls from the referees. It was a game they should have easily won. The Celtics lacked focus and intensity in that game. They came out strong and led 31-23 after one quarter but gave up 38 points in the second and had to fight an uphill battle through the rest of the game. That loss should be enough to motivate the Celtics to a big win in this one.
This game features the NBA’s two best active three-point shooters of all time. Ray Allen and Peja Stojakovic have combined for over 4,000 three-pointers since they entered the league together during the 1996-97 season.Stojakovic needs four more three pointers to tie Dale Ellis’ mark of 1,719 three pointers made, which ranks third all-time in NBA history. Ray Allen ranks second all-time with 2,479 treys, just 81 short of tying Reggie Miller for all time 3 point leader.

Comments From the Other Side - Nets 11/24
Thursday, November 25, 2010
by FLCeltsFan 8:26 AM
Like many of the teams we face, the fans started out with hope and then lapsed into hating on their own players. After reading how disgusted other fans are about all the Celtics fans in their building, it was interesting to read the comment about being the only Nets fan in the Garden. I also loved the comment about Shaq killing the Nets for 19 years and how it was getting really, really old. Happy Thanksgiving to everyone and enjoy this edition of Comments from the Other Side.....
No Rondo, we need Harris to kill Nate
No Rondo But Celts are still the better team
Guard ray Allen with your life|
Derrick Favors owns the Celtics
I really am looking forward to seeing the potentially younger version of Garnett vs. The real Garnett.
Anything can happen, especially with Rondo out, the Nets might snag a win
I'm looking for Favors to dunk on Garnett's face
I hope we keep our fast paced offense against old *** Boston.

Celtics Host Division Rival Nets
Wednesday, November 24, 2010
by FLCeltsFan 10:35 AM
New Jersey Nets (5-9) at Boston Celtics (10-4)
Wednesday, November 24
Game #15, Home Game #7
TV: CSNNE, YES, NBA-LP 756/757
Radio WEEI
TD Garden
Referees: Dan Crawford, John Goble, Haywoode Workman
This is the first of 4 meetings between these two division rivals. The fortunes of both teams have certainly changed since game 3 of the 2002 ECF when the Celtics orchestrated one of the greatest 4th quarter comebacks in NBA history vs the Nets. Even though most of the faces on the teams have changed, these two teams remain division rivals.
Last season, the Celtics won the series 3‐1 with the Celtics winning both games at New Jersey. Paul Pierce led the Celtics with an average of 20.0 points and shot 60.0% from three‐point range in the 4 games vs the Nets. Rajon Rondo added a double‐double effort with 14.3 points and 11.3 assists to go along with 3.0 steals per game. Brook Lopez led the Nets
with an average of 21.3 points while adding 7.5 rebounds and 2.0 blocks per game.
The Nets are playing in the second of back to back games. They pulled off a 107-101 win over the Hawks on Tuesday night but lost their previous 3 games. The Celtics are coming off a very dominant win over the Hawks but tend to play down to the competition. In spite of their record, the Nets can be a dangerous team if you don't take them seriously. Hopefully the Celtics are still a bit mad about their losses to the Thunder and Raptors and will come into this one focused and put them away early. Read more »

Comments From the Other Side - Hawks 11/22
by FLCeltsFan 8:51 AM
The Celtics certainly came out with something to prove in this game. It didn't take long for the Hawks fans to go from expecting a big win to the reality of their team getting blown out. Yet again, there was a comment about how this team should get Perk. I hope Danny realizes what he has in this kid and makes him a decent offer to keep him. I love how they kept talking about how old the Celtics are while the "old" Celtics were blowing past their "young" team. My two favorite comments were this one "Celtics are faster than us Which is sad because they are 400 years older than us." and this one "There are Bible Verses younger than the Celtics." What's your favorite? It's so much more fun gathering these comments when we win... enjoy!!!
I have a good feeling about tonight We need this game, and we want this game. This is the beginning of a great week. Our team’s foundation is better than a team of hired hands with no heart. Let’s Go Hawks
We should win this easily. No rondo and they are playing back to back. Plus they are old and can't keep up with us.
Rondo's not playing so Celtics fans will have an excuse for why they lost. I can hear them whining about it now. They are starting the circus midget in his place. Bibby will feast.
I almost accidentally heard Tommy Heinsohn speak. Luckily I found the Hawks broadcast channel in time!
Oh man. If Rondo doesn't play then a win won't count. Damn.

Celtics Looking to Halt Losing Streak at 2
by FLCeltsFan 9:28 AM
Boston Celtics (9-4) at Atlanta Hawks (8-5)
Monday, November 22
7:00 PM ET
Game #14, Road Game #8
TV: CSNNE, SNET1, SPSO, NBA-LP 751/752
Radio: WEEI, WQXI
Philips Arena Referees: Bill Spooner, Rodney Mott, Scott Wall
The Celtics come into this game having lost to two short handed teams that they should have been able to beat easily. Whether they played down to the competition and were burned by it or whether they are bored, as Doc hinted, or whether they are just not putting the effort into the games. they are going to have to come out focused and give a better effort or they are going to get blown out by a young and athletic Hawks team that always seems to give them problems.
Last Season the Hawks won the season series 4‐0 and they are playing with the same starting 5 this season. It marked the first time since 1998‐99 season that the Celtics had been swept by the Hawks and only the fourth time since the 1960‐61 season that the C’s had failed to win a game against Atlanta. Paul Pierce led the C’s attack with an average of 24.8 points per game while Kendrick Perkins posted a double‐double with 12.0 points and 11.0 rebounds. Joe Johnson led the Hawks with 24.8 points per game while Jamal Crawford averaged 20.3 points coming off the bench.
The Hawks are a young and athletic team and are healthy while the Celtics are banged up and have struggled with the Hawks for the past few years. What's more, the Hawks have had a day of rest while the Celtics are playing in the second of back to back games. The Celtics are now 4-3 on the road and the Hawks are 3-4 at home. Both teams are coming into this game off a loss with the Hawks losing their last game while the Celtics have lost their last 2 games. The Celtics must come out with more focus and effort than they have in their last 2 games or they will find themselves on a 3 game losing streak. Read more »

Comments From the Other Side - Raptors 11/21
by FLCeltsFan 9:19 AM
Raptors fans are always very chatty during games and even in a loss, their comments are fun to read. I think my favorite comment was "Devastating win" It is sad that in the 13th game of the year, Raptors fans are already cheering for the team to tank. I always can tell when the officiating is really bad because there will always be comments about how they are getting all the calls. We face the Raptors again on Friday. I agree with the last comment. They need to enjoy it while they can. The next game is going to hurt.
Dis gonna hurt REEEEEEEEEAL BAD
Going to this game. Expect blow-out but won't be that bad if my boy Ray Ray goes 8-8 or something from three. Rather he kill us than anyone else.
If the Raptors want a slight chance at winning, Bargnani has to have a big game. If Bargnani is invisible... Expect a blowout.
Jack was the leader of the team and I have no idea how the young guys on the Raptors will handle this game, I expect a 50 point blowout.
Why does everyone say Jack was the "leader" of this team. This team had no leader, he just resembled one.
Big Baby is going to go off on the Raps
We are so going to win this game!
We can have a game where the only 2 points guards that play are Jose and Robinson.........this is going to be ugly

Celtics Travel North of the Border to Take on Raptors
Sunday, November 21, 2010
by FLCeltsFan 10:58 AM
Boston Celtics (9-3) at Toronto Raptors (4-9)
Sunday, November 21
1:00 PM ET
Game #13 Away Game #7
TV: CSNNE, SNET, LP-751
Radio: WEEI, CJCL
Referees: Dick Bavetta, Matt Boland, Brian Forte
The Celtics are coming off a very uninspired loss to the Thunder at home while the Raptors are coming off a victory over the Rockets. Both come into this game with one day of rest. The Celtics are 4-2 on the road while the Raptors are 2-3 at home. The Celtics have an 8 game win streak over the Raptors, which is the longest for any of their opponents.
This is the first of 4 meetings for these two teams this season. They won't have to wait long for a rematch as they will face off again on Friday in Boston. The Raptors are in the midst of an early season make over as they have agreed to send Jarrett Jack, who has been starting for them, along with Marcus Banks and David Andersen for Peja Stojakovik and Jerryd Bayless. I doubt any of those players will be available for this game, which will leave the Raptors short handed.
The Celtics could also be a bit short handed. Rondo has a strained hamstring and although he traveled with the team, is considered a game time decision. The Celtics should be able to beat the Raptors even without Rondo and it may be best to rest him in this one. If Rondo can't go, Delonte should get the start and Avery Bradley may get to see his first action this season.
This should be an easy win for the Celtics but they can't take the Raptors for granted because they are short handed or because they expect an easy game. The Celtics must come out focused and play the Raptors tough or they could be in for a surprise 2 games in a row.
