Comments from the Other Side - Rockets 4/2
Saturday, April 3, 2010
by FLCeltsFan 10:34 AM
It is amazing how the comments on the Rockets boards went from "We're going to lose and that's good cause we are tanking" type comments to "I really want to beat these guys no matter how many ping pong balls we get" comments. These comments are definitely more enjoyable when we win, but there's some good stuff in here even though the Celtics are the ones who tanked last night. The only positive from last night is that Orlando and Atlanta lost too.
Sooo, Is it safe to say we will be playing the rookies extended minutes. I hope so
If everyone plays with high intensity, we can win this one!! GO ROCKETS!!!
With any luck we'll lose this one. Come to me sweet lottery balls
Confidence builder for the Celtics...
Everyone has been beating Boston at home. Sadly, I have a feeling that "everyone" does not include the Rockets" Please win so we don't go below 500.
It really doesn't matter anymore for the rockets. Lottery draft more important in my eyes.
The Celtics are bad at home I think we will steal a win. Keep in mind, this is the same team that got whooped by the Nyets on their home court.
Boston is coming off of 2 bad losses and an ugly win prior to that. Last game KG went off about the refs and Durant. The team was visibly pissed. I'd be very surprised if Boston didn't come out running on all cylinders and won convincingly.
It would be nice if Chase/JT put KG on a poster tonight......
Big Baby is in, which means Jordan Hill is gonna get 3 more blocks this quarter
Freakin Perkins burning Hayes...
Perkins is killing chuck with same shot time after time
"not a good sign when Hilton Armstrong makes a 17 footer" Lmfao. Even Celtics commentators have no love for this dude.
Since when did Wallace start banging in the post? Go back to chucking 3's
Michael Finley- the only player in the league Mike Harris has a mismatch on
If this was a real game I don't think Rick would have liked that
Lol did scola just cross over KG?
No, he crossed over Kevin Garnett...KG retired 2 years ago.
Harris and Armstrong showing off lol...Celtics should be ashamed.
Garnett needs to retire
Yeah KG retired after the title run and was replaced with a cry baby named Kevin Garnett.
Man Boston is getting a ton of calls.
Now that is a real point guard
Rondo is making Brooks look amateur.
Kevin Garnett and Rasheed going all veteran on us...
Wow Boston fans are idiots. Referee signals the charge call, and everyone cheers thinking it's an and 1
Celtics are old!
I would like for Rick to send Hilton Armstrong into the game just to pop KG in the face. I hate that guy
When did Boston become a bunch of crybabies, when they called goaltending, Pierce looked ready to throw a fit. I hope we beat them
We achieve nothing by winning these games. I'm not asking for the players to give up and quit. I just want to lose!
Celtics can beat most everyone in the East playoffs not Orlando, Cleveland and Atlanta but that will change next season, they are old and breaking down.
Want This win simply cause of these damm announcers
Rondo just got the rebound over Jordan Hill. Pathetic
Soooo many and 1s for Boston.
The Boston announcers are such homers.
Boston's announcers must be the biggest homers in the league.
Ouch..our entire team is balling on offense and we still barely have the lead..
All the complaining about Durant and the refs are paying off nicely for them tonight.
The refs are doing fine tonight.
Is Wallace trying to look like a hobo or what.
Rondo is a tremendous defensive player.
Lol yeh Boston get excited about beating us with the aid of the refs...as a championship contender at home, with the opposition missing 3 starters and their 6th man plus 2 rotation players.... LOL
Rockets never quit. Celtics will be getting tighter if this game stays close down the end.
Rondo loves picking ABs pockets
He isn't picking his pockets... he's mugging him. If the refs didn't hate Brooks all across the league he would have half the turnovers this year.
I hate Rondo's face. It's quite punchable.
Boston can get stops when they need them. Wish we could still do that.
Everybody is shooting the lights out! 8-10 in 3pt territory!
Wow that's amazing. Are the C’s playing any defense?
I don't think sooo! We're even outrebounding them
Does this Boston team look like a title contender? I say no
The Celts and Spurs are both frauds
Sorry, Celts, you guys aren’t good enough to win a championship
Maybe if they take their Centrum Silver
The Celtics are completely inept. Surely all glory laud and honor must go to the Rockets but Boston is malfunctioning with alarming precision
Ray Allen and KG looked like old, old men.
Allen just looked bad. Garnett looked tired and slow, but effective if he played about 20 minutes.
Celtics are a bunch of chokers.
Which team is tanking again?!?
We shot a better % from 3 than the Celtics did from the FT line
Man, you just cant root for tanking with this team. They really play hard and make you admire them
This win will be the most satisfied win all season
Why is garnett taking these long shots
What the heck happened to Boston?
Scola has been abusing Garnett and Rasheed all night long. The Celtics frontcourt is just too old.
Perkins got hacked but we've been ****Ed by the refs too.
Moving pick on Perkins Ala Game 3 1994 Finals!!!
No need for that call refs...You just gave us the game.
WOW!! The Refs have some balls tonight.
Boston is seriously choking....
WE WON YAY AND HERE THOSE BOOS FROM BOSTON

The Crippling Effects of Uncertainty
Friday, April 2, 2010
by bballee 10:56 AM
Hey, waitta minute This season has brought us a definitive fourth class of prevaricators. To liars, d*mn liars, and statisticians, we can now add anyone who thinks he has a handle on this year's Celtics. Inconsistency has been their only constant--and that includes every aspect of the Green. Individually the health and performance of the players have varied wildly from month to month, week to week, day to day, game to game, and even quarter to quarter. Similarly spotty has been the play and production of almost any group one might define--starters, second unit, deep bench, older vets, youngsters, role players, front court, back court, swing men, bigs, points, shooters, slashers, All-Stars, scrubs, and in between. As a whole they have beaten, and been beaten by, the best and the worst, the young and the old, the East and the West, and turned in wildly different results against the same team whether the games are separated by days or months. If you think you have this team figured out, I've got some seafront property I'd like to sell you . . . as soon as the tide goes out.
There have been some interesting discussions surrounding Doc’s comments about bandwagon fans. The truth is that it would be almost impossible to have swings in fan support or belief with more amplitude than the ebb and flow of the performance of this year's Celtics. Perhaps the question should be--How could the fan’s belief system not mirror the up and down nature of their team? As most of us fans demonstrate the mental instability natural for an emotionally-attached appendage to a franchise yo-yo, the stress has degraded our psyche (or would that be psychi) until our pets hide, our wives and girlfriends tread on eggshells, and the TV has become accustomed to high-decibel verbal abuse.
But enough of us, today's topic is the many and deleterious effects of such uncertainty on our beloved team. These same fluctuations that drive fan(atics) to distraction, also cast an insidious malevolent spell across all levels of the functioning of the team. On an individual level one of the keys to effective play is to understand what you can and can not do. Playing within your limits presupposes that you know what those limits are and that you can perform all the aspects that are "within." Anyone that has had a leg injury knows how difficult it is to shoot a jump shot as you recover and don't know how much lift and stability the leg will give you from shot to shot. Many of us are old enough to have encountered the corner, which when rounded, finds that the body summoned responds with a resounding "Not tonight, dear." Much of basketball, especially shooting, is mental and when your dependable's become questionable's there is no comfort zone--rather than in a groove you find yourself in the cage equivalent of moguls. Think of how many lay-ins by Pierce and Garnett (or Tony or Sheed for that matter) have been snubbed by the front rim. When your lift fails to fully materialize (whether from injury or just the decline of age), you are left a bit short--on the jump, on the shot, on the rebound, on the block, on the steal, on the finish. If basketball is a game of confidence, what must be said of the state of a player who is wildly inconsistent? At some point it becomes a chicken-and-egg thing devolving into a downward spiral.
This loss-of-competence/confidence ripple of micro to macro for individual players finds a questionable jump leading to a questionable shot leading to hesitant and ineffective play. A similar effect results in the reduced functionality of any on-court five as their interaction suffers from individual failures just as a motor is robbed of power with misfiring cylinders. Actually it is much worse as the doubt that creeps in (some would say this is just good reality testing) creates uncertainty--whether your teammate will be in time on the defensive rotation, will catch up with your pass thrown to lead, will hit the open shot that should be a slight improvement over your mildly contested opportunity, or that they will be able to get back in time to seal the other lane on the break. Just as trust allows the whole to exceed the sum of the parts, doubt ensures that the whole falls short of that sum.
The same might be said for the combined effort of the first and second units. If you have doubts about your counterpart maintaining their end of the responsibilities, there is additional pressure on you to over-perform to compensate for their possible failures. And the ripple of inconsistency and doubt goes on and on until it brings down the whole house of cards--which remained standing only because each part was used in a way to draw from its strengths and minimize its weaknesses. Success breeds success, fear fosters fear, and the Celtics have run out of time to build the momentum that comes from playing well which leads to winning and trusting and believing, which leads to playing even better and winning even more. In this light Doc's grousing about the lack of faith of the bandwagon fans starts to sound like the frightened little boy whistling in the dark trying to conquer his own fears and doubt.

Comments from the Other Side - Thunder 3/31
Thursday, April 1, 2010
by FLCeltsFan 9:28 AM
This was a tough game to watch because of the terrible officiating. Both teams played very well but the disparity in the calls was the difference. Good to see that the Thunder fans saw it too. People who love the game hate games that are decided by the refs. The Thunder is a great young team and they played well. But then again, the Celtics played well. It would have been nice to see who would win the game without the influence of bad calls and no calls. The sad thing is that this wasn't even the worst officiated game of the night. Cavs: 45 free throws, Bucks 9 free throws. No comment needed.
Boston is having a tough year, we should pull out a win tonight.
Ha ha Boston is having a tough year, but they have a better record than us.
The Celtics are coming off an embarrassing loss to the Spurs so they will be looking for some redemption.. Meanwhile we're on the 2nd of the back to back, but many of our starters got some nice rest in the fourth quarter in Philly.
If we want anything other than a 8th seed weed need this one. I predict a hard fought victory
Celtics are slippng. Rondo vs. Russell is going to be the premiere matchup in this one. Russ drops 30 on Rondo
Sorry guys. I have to go with the realist in me...
THUNDER - 89
Green guys - 97
Celtics are hungry but Thunder playing better ball. I'm jut worried a little bit about all those point in the paint by the C's...and now Collison has 2 PF's.
Where is the D?
Peirce's facial expressions and "swagger" make me nauseous.
Well, aint no D in Boston Celtics, but there aint no D in Oklahoma City Thuner either :D
Boston shot 71% that half so only being down by 4 isn’t such a bad deal. I hope they cool off so we can take it back to them in the second half.
Not having a good feeling on this one
That was a ridiculous 1st half
Hopefully the old guys get worn down in the 2nd half
I'm surprised that the refs are giving us a lot of calls. Celtics not getting any respect from them. Very surprising but I'll take it.
We lucked out on that call. 3 free throws and he wasn't shooting. I can't get over the way the refs are calling this game. I thought the Celtics would get all the calls. If we win we should send the refs a thank you note.
My experience is, that if 2 team are tied up after 3 Qs, with one team shooting 49% and the other team shooting 67%, then usually the 49%-team will win.
Glen Davis piss me of...he was trying to injure Kristic thumb.
The referees are definitely on Thunder's side... Wow Durant is getting Lebron fouls. I love Durant but damn, anything touching him is a foul.
As horrible as the Celtics announcer is, I have to agree with him. The refs are on OKCs side tonight. I’ve seen some horrible calls going the other way too but by far OKC is benefiting from the awful refs
Every possession counted, it was just a slug fest , back and forth ......... What a game.
It sucks have it decided by the refs especially when both teams were putting on an awesome show.
Great win tonight. We got lucky with some of the calls, but that **** happens.
KD made more free throws than the entire Boston team. Hahahaha.
We definatly got some lucky calls, but that's basketball. Some days the calls go against us...remember it's not like we're Cleveland and get ALL the calls

Celtics Hoping for a Bounce Back Game vs the Thunder
Wednesday, March 31, 2010
by FLCeltsFan 1:35 PM
at ![[image]](http://images.footballfanatics.com/productImages/_316000/FF_316860_s.jpg)
Oklahoma City Thunder (45-28) at Boston Celtics (47-26)
Wednesday, March 31
7:30 PM ET
Game #74, Home Game #37
TV: KSBI, CSN-NE, NBA-LP 756,757
Radio: WEEI, WWLS
TD Garden
Referees: Bob Delaney, Bennie Adams, Zach Zarba
The Celtics are coming off an embarrassing loss to the Spurs while the Thunder are coming off a heartbreaking home loss to Portland before their big win over the Sixers on Tuesday night. This team has a lot of confidence and are playing very well. The Celtics would do well to take them very seriously!
This game has playoff implications for both teams. The Celtics are back to a tie for 3rd in the East after their loss to the Spurs and a win by Atlanta on Monday. The Thunder are in the 6th spot in the West, 2 games behind Denver for the 5th spot and only half a game in front of Portland for the seventh seed and 1 game in front of San Antonio for the 8th seed. They desperately want to avoid that 8th seed and the first round matchup with the Lakers. So, every game is very important to them and they are going to play like it.
The Celtics are 7-3 in their last 10 games and a disappointing 24-13 at home this season. The Thunder are 6-4 in their last 10 games and an impressive 20 and 15 on the road. The Celtics have had 2 days of rest while the Thunder are playing in the second of back to back games, having played in Philly the night before.
The Celtics need to take this team seriously because they are for real. The Thunder are the kind of young and athletic team that can give the Celtics problems. The Celtics should be looking to redeem themselves after a terrible showing against the Spurs and hopefully will come out strong and take control of this game early. We know that the Thunder are going to come out strong and play hard. The big question is which Celtics team will show up for this one.
![[image]](http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/.element/img/2.0/sect/basketball/nba/teampages/toppers/celtics_514x96.jpg)
Probable Starters
PG Rajon Rondo
SG Ray Allen
SF Paul Pierce
PF Kevin Garnett
C Kendrick Perkins
![[image]](http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/.element/img/2.0/sect/basketball/nba/teampages/toppers/thunder_514x96.jpg)
Probable Starters
PG Russell Westbrook
SG Thabo Sefolosha
SF Kevin Durant
PF Jeff Green
C Nenad Krstic
Key Matchups
vs ![[image]](http://www.sportsecyclopedia.com/nba/seattle/DurantSea.jpg)
Paul Pierce vs Kevin Durant
When we play against Durant there will always be thoughts of what might have been if the Celtics had landed the 1st or 2nd pick in that draft instead of the 5th. Durant has blossomed into a star and is averaging an impressive 29.6 points per game along with 7.5 rebounds per game. In the first meeting between these two teams this season, Durant put up 36 points. Pierce will have his hands full trying to contain this young and athletic star. If Pierce is not able to go because of his shoulder injury, Tony, Marquis or even Michael Finley may get the starting nod. I'd go with Tony because of his defense.
vs ![[image]](http://www.sportsecyclopedia.com/nba/okc/WestbrookOKC.jpg)
Rajon Rondo vs Russell Westbrook
Westbrook is a very good point guard who could give Rondo problems in this game. He is averaging 6.2 points, 7.9 assists and 1.4 steals per game. Rondo outplayed Westbrook in their first meeting and so Westbook will likely be looking to even the score in this game. Rondo needs to come out focused and be aggressive on both ends of the court.
Honorable Mention
Kevin Garnett vs Jeff Green
This is another of those what might have been matchups. The Celtics picked Jeff Green with the 5th pick in the draft and then traded him to Seattle in return for Ray Allen and this was the trade that set the table for KG to come to Boston. KG has been playing very well and has height and experience advantages while Green has youth and quickness on his side.
Keys to the Game
Defense The team that plays the best defense is going to come out on top in this one. Both teams can put up the points and the team that stops the other team will have the advantage.
Rebound Rebounding is especially important when playing teams like the Thunder who will run on misses on the defensive end and who are athletic enough to get put backs on the offensive end. The Celtics have got to put out more effort in going after rebounds.
Play Team Ball The Celtics had gotten back to playing team ball and moving the ball and finding the open man recently, but against the Spurs, they fell back into bad habits of holding the ball too much and not looking for open teammates. Ball movement and assists are very important to the Celtics' success.
Play 48 Minutes Once again, the Celtics played well in the first half and disappeared in the second half against the Spurs. They can't come out flat in the 3rd quarter and expect to beat playoff teams. They have to get back to coming out strong in the 3rd and dominating teams in the second half as well as the first.

Random Thoughts on game Day
by FLCeltsFan 10:18 AM
Well, the Celtics made it all of 11 games with their full roster available. Then Perk was out for 2 games. Now it appears that Pierce may miss a game. It is a bit worrisome that he has gotten 2 stingers in the same shoulder a day a part and no one is concerned. Are they sure it is just a stinger? Anyway, he may miss tonight's game against the Thunder. This injury stuff brings to mind several random thoughts.
First, as I was watching Sports Tonight and they were talking about Pierce's assorted injuries this season, they were showing several clips of his injuries. I read in the game threads how other fans feel that Pierce is such a drama queen. Well, watching those clips I kind of got the same impression. I know that Paul Pierce is a warrior and the guy plays hurt all the time. I know he is tough, but he gets hit in the shoulder and he goes to the floor like he was shot and rolls on the floor. Now, I can see that with maybe a knee or an ankle injury where you are on the ground already. But it's the shoulder... why drop to the ground and roll on the floor? They then showed 2 other injuries where he was on the floor rolling in the same manner. He almost always gets back up and gets back in the game but the injuries always look like they are career ending with the way he is grimacing and rolling on the floor.
Good news out of practice yesterday. Perk was back practicing and said he feels better. The fact that he has been suffering from the tendonitis for a couple of months explains a lot about his decreased aggressiveness. I'm not sure that just a few days of rest is going to fix the problem. It may help, but this is something that may hamper him the rest of the season. Hopefully though we'll see a little more of the aggression on the boards and blocks that we saw earlier in the season now that he has gotten to rest his creaky knees.
Rich Levine on CSN-NE has a good article on the Celtics Numbers. One that stood out is a comparison of Tony
Marquis Daniels has played 87 more minutes than Tony Allen this season, and has taken two more shots. However . . . dramatic pause . . .
Daniels has scored fewer points, grabbed fewer rebounds, dished out fewer assists, and made fewer steals than TA. He’s shooting a worse percentage from the field and hasn’t been to the line even half as many times as Allen (52 vs. 105). That is very interesting and explains why we have been seeing a lot more Tony and a lot less Quisy in recent games. I still like Marquis and maybe he is still struggling to come back from the injury and I think he can be a very key piece for this team but if Tony is out playing him right now, Doc has to go with Tony.
The article also goes into a comparison of Rasheed and Big Baby that is pretty eye opening.
Rasheed has played 1,591 minutes this season. Big Baby has played 773. No need to take out the calculator, that’s more than double the playing time; Rasheed's essentially played Big Baby’s season twice.
But as you can imagine, the numbers don’t quite resemble that.
Specifically, in two areas: Offensive rebounds and foul shots.
Despite the enormous minute disparity, Davis has 59 more offensive rebounds than Sheed (94-35) and has shot only two fewer FTs (109-111)
Sure, you can use the argument that Sheed spends most of his time outside the arc, but then again, he also has fewer offensive boards than Ray and Tony Allen. He ranks ninth on the team overall. It’s inexcusable, and unbelievably frustrating.
As is this figure:
Rasheed ranks sixth on the team in total minutes, but leads the team in personal fouls. It’s one thing to amass that kind of number if you’re the team’s enforcer on D, it’s another if it’s just because you’re not playing any.
But back to Baby for a second: He’s played only the 10th most minutes for the C’s this season, but ranks second with those 94 offensive boards. He also only has 82 defensive boards, which, unbelievably, makes him the only player in the entire league NBA (minimum 40 total) with more offensive than defensive rebounds. Wow! I knew that Sheed has been disappointing but when you look at the numbers you realize just how disappointing. My only hope to salvage this signing is that he ups his game in the playoffs and actually starts producing.
Tonight the Celtics play the Thunder. This is the kind of young and athletic team that gives the Celtics problems. The Thunder are going to come out strong and play hard because they are young and are very serious about wanting to avoid the 8th spot in the West. They are just 1 game ahead of San Antonio for that 8th spot and could easily slip to 8th with just one loss and a Spurs win. The Celtics should be just as serious about keeping the 3rd spot in the East. They are tied for 3rd with the Hawks who will be playing the Lakers tonight. Staying in 3rd could help them avoid the Hawks unless they end up in the Finals. But, the Celtics haven't seen fit to play with that kind of intensity on a consistent basis. I guess we have to wait until tonight to find out which Celtics team shows up...
I just heard that Tim Donaghy will be on The Celtics Late Night Show in May. That is exciting news. I have been telling anyone who listens that I was impressed with Tim's book Personal Foul and I think the more fans that read it and the more that he can get his message out, the more fans will realize that there are some big problems in the NBA, the least of which are one ref with a gambling problem. Every fan should get Tim's book and read it. Also, check out his website. You'll find it well worth your time.

Comments from the Other Side - Spurs 3/28
Monday, March 29, 2010
by FLCeltsFan 9:21 AM
Another day, another game against an "elite" team. Boston hasn't looked quite as good this season as they did in the previous two, but they are still very, very dangerous. The good news is that the anchor of their defense, Kendrick Perkins, probably won't play today. The bad news is that Tony Parker is still hurt, and he has been sorely missed in the games against elite teams.
Anything’s possible. Like, beating the Cavs and Celts in a row.
With the boorishhFinley on them they are suddenly THE hated team in the East - please kick their @#$s Spurs.
This place will have a meltdown if Finley has a good game..there will be people asking why the Spurs traded him, even though the majority of us have wanted him gone for years
Personally...just to mess with pop's head a little... I would like to see somebody...give Finley a hard, hard flagrant foul
Finley is not good enough to start for the Celtics?
Who will KG taunt?
LOL what a horrible call on RJ..refs coming out early..even the Celtics announcer was surprised, including Heinsohn..
Duncan isn't being aggressive so far, bad sign..expect a lot of bad shots..
Pop needs to play Bonner. He had his best game last year in Boston.
We shooting jumpers, they posting up and attacking the rim.
I miss defense
Bonner sighting!
Are you sure that’s not Scal?
Life is good when your shooting 33% but the score is still tied
I hate to admit this, but Rondo has turned into a good point guard.
I thought there was something weird about this arena..They don’t play any annoying music. I like that.
Dice has the worst hands of any NBA player
That's okay. Dice doesn't get it going till the second half of the season..........Oh, wait a minute
Wow Duncan cant even score on big baby... Take him out.. Hes obviously hurting...
Rondo running the break and see finley runs the break and decide to shoot the ball himself
College basketball is horrible compared to the nba, in every single way.
Yeah, stars might actually foul out a college game. How rude!
I see finley on the court He does not look as good in a Celtics uni.
Finley fouling Bogans on a left hand hook shot..typical Finley..
Spurs shooting 32%, but only down 4. Either they can continue to hang around, or they'll be down 15+ at halftime at this rate.
I don't have a good feeling about this game. Tim is taking bad shots. Hill is being passive and RJ might have lost his rhythm after the 2 fouls.
Maybe I'm too much of an optimist, but I sort of feel better about games when the Spurs start out sluggish and then claw their way into the game. It seems that much of the time when they start out strong they fizzle in the second half.
I hate these "All-Bench" line-ups playing extended minutes. Can't wait for the playoffs to stop watching these units on the floor.
Easy baskets, thank Finley for that.
Finley's D has been terrible so far..he fouled Bogans on an impossible shot, and RJ just manhandled him..
Thank god Boston has a shitty bench
I never thought I'd say this: I love watching Fin play D.
I knew it. Finley is STILL helping the Spurs, but he had to change teams to do it.
Nice to see that Nate is still a chucker.
Perkins just looks pissed off at life itself.
Well, the random not-so-good player to have career nights against the Spurs seems to be Sheldon Williams tonight.
Rondo gambles for steals a lot
The Celts’ D has deteriorated like Tim’s knees.
Uh-oh, Fats Wallace for 3.
This arena is dead
Garnett is always fired up to play Duncan, yet for some reason it's seemingly not the other way around. Duncan needs to take charge offensively, bad knees or not, this is absolutely ridiculous.
MANUUUUUUUUUUUU nice block on Garnett!
WOW! Anything really is possible, huh KG?
The kg block was insane for all the shit that kg does especially to nonblack players (belinelli, zaza, bayless) all that's on youtube, intensity my ass that dude is a racist
Hill fouled KG, we got away with one
Sheed keeps jacking it up
Good for us.
The nba webpage didn´t credit Manu yet with the blocked shot and steal on Garnett.
Must be Stern’s work.
IT was against “super chest bump hero Garnett” so… maybe … it gonna be erased from the record…..
The 19-9 free throw disparity in our favor is kinda weird. I’m not used to it.
KG with the goaltend
This is why Timmeh is a better defender than KG – Timmeh can’t jump high enough to goaltend
Pierce is hurt…
Manu is killing the Celtics. Literally
Pierce for the Oscar
Get out the wheel chair Paulina is hurt!
Give the man an Oscar. He was flopping around like a fish out of water.
If this was a playoff game, the wheel chair would definitely be out on the floor.
Bonner taking KG to school.
Our Ginger is much better than their ginger.
If I was KG I'd head back to the locker room with a towel over my head.
It's a good thing we didn't get sheed, he sucks as bad as dice.
Those 5 bench players units Doc likes to play throw the team out of sync, especially with Perkins and Daniels out. With a more conservative rotation the Cs would be comfortably ahead, I think.
37 % shooting against a team that is laying down
Dude if the Celtics go after manu this offseason I'm gonna be pissed
LOL at Finley wanting to play for Boston & LOL at Rasheed "I'm a lazy piece of garbage" Wallace.
BTW who else remembers when it was tough to drive in on Boston & get layups? Hahaha Manu is walking into the paint at will. Crazy how different they look on compared to 2008
Finley's been a real asset for the Spurs every time he's been on the floor tonight.
Sucks to see that KG's knees have given out like Timmy's have..my 2 favorite players..
Boston is just flat-footed.
Boston looks demoralized.
Dang. Boston is getting booed
I swear I heard doc rivers booing the Celtics.
Bonner is 10 times better than Scalabrine.
10 X 0 = 0. Okay, I agree.
Offensive rebounds are killing the Celtics.
Celtics should just forfeit the playoffs. This team is not winning shit and they know it.
One of the worst second half efforts for a home team ive seen in a while

The Spurs are sitting in the 7th spot in the West a game behind the Thunder and just half game in front of Portland for the pleasure of meeting the Lakers in the first round.
Both teams are 7-3 in their last 10 games. San Antonio has been average away from home, going just 17-17 on the road while the Celtics are 23-12 at the Garden and have won their last 5 games there. The Celtics are going for their 3rd straight win while the Spurs are going for 2 in a row.
In December, the Celtics won their fourth straight game in San Antonio, a feat they had not accomplished in nearly 20 years. Kevin Garnett led the C’s offensive output with 20 points while Rajon Rondo added another double-double with 12 points and 12 assists. The Celtics brought their tough D for the third straight night, limiting the Spurs to just 42% from the field and 12.5% from beyond the arc. The Spurs last lead of the game came with 9:54 remaining in the first quarter with the score 4-2. The Spurs were led by rookie DeJuan Blair and his 18 points and 11 boards off the bench while Tim Duncan added 16 points and 15 boards.
The Celtics will more than likely be playing without Kendrick Perkins for the second straight game and if so, the Celtics will need to get some effort out of Rasheed Wallace. Wallace has played Duncan well in the past and hopefully that will continue in this game.

Rajon Rondo vs George Hill
With Parker out, Hill has been called on to run the team and has been doing a good job. Rondo has been on a tear in recent games and hopefully he will continue his aggressive play in this game.
vs![[image]](http://www.nba.com/media/act_tim_duncan.jpg)
Kevin Garnett vs Tim Duncan
This is a matchup of the two best power forwards in the league. Both have slowed a bit but they are both still formidable foes. Both have been playing very well in recent games and so this should be a fun matchup to watch.
Honorable Mention
Ray Allen vs Manu Ginobili
Ginobili is very important to the Spurs offense, especially with Parker out. In their last game, a win over the Cavs, one of the key reasons for the win was Ginobili outplaying LeBron. Ray will need to slow Ginobili down while continuing his own hot shooting.
Keys to the Game
Defense - The Celtics appear to have returned to their defensive roots. They need to continue to play the swarming team defense that we have come to know and love.
Focus The Celtics have also regained their focus when playing at home, having won their last 5 games at the Garden. They need to continue to focus on team play and establish home dominance once again.
Rebound The Spurs are a good rebounding team and the Celtics need to concentrate on crashing the boards. The Celtics have been doing much better at this in recent games and need to continue to put out the effort on the boards. By dominating the boards, the Celtics can prevent put backs and second chance points.
Be Aggressive When the Celtics are aggressive in going after loose balls, taking the ball to the hoop and playing in your face defense, they are very tough to beat. When they get lazy and allow teams to beat them to loose balls and rebounds and when they settle for jumpers and don't go to the basket, they are very beatable. They must stay aggressive.
Play 48 Minutes The Celtics let a big lead slip once again against the Kings. Of course, this time when the starters returned, they held the Kings at bay, but against a better team, they may not have been able to. Both the starters and especially the bench must come out strong and play hard without letting up.
