We need to win, tired of losing on national TV, need to go back to blowin out teams like last year on TV.. Lets go off for 130
No Pierce scares me though, we need to step on their **** old throats.
Magic blow these clowns out. Let Bass play and matchup on KG. I'm pretty sure the Celts fans got their excuse list made already.
Lets get this. I really, really want to beat Boston
I sure would like a Magic win for Christmas. The thing I hate though, is that in some respects it's lose/lose:
If we lose, we have to listen to Celtics fans chomping on about how last year was a fluke, etc.
If we win, it'll just be about how the only way were able to beat them is when they're injured and it doesn't mean much.
In any event, I hope we win whether it's by 1 or 31. Regardless of what anyone says, we're #2 in the East right now, and Boston is only one game ahead of us.
This should be an interesting game. I'm not underestimating the Celtics right now. I just hope the Magic come out with great intensity and we prove to them that we are the best team in the East!!
Will we win? I have this funny feeling that we won't, but who knows. I'm no longer confident even without Pierce.

Boston has Sheed and Perkins. Offensively, Howard just cannot do anything against those two on any sort of consistent basis.

He has problems against Boston because they have Perkins and Rasheed who, despite being able to jump about an inch off the ground anymore, still gives him problems for some unknown reason. Rasheed does not have a strong lower base, and those are almost always the guys that give Dwight problems.
Well yeah, I know Dwight can't score against him. He can't score on anybody who is strong enough to hold their ground. But in addition to that, Dwight completely loses any IQ he has against him.

Great, the Celtics are going to win this game. They will then say that they beat us WITHOUT Pierce, and that the last game was a fluke because Garnett has only recently gotten into his groove. We will say that we beat them without Nelson the last time, but the will give the resounding "LMAO if you think Nelson is as valuable as Pierce or Garnett" argument.
Hell Rondo has no type of game, but at least he drives to the rim and gets calls.

When the going gets tough, Dwight mentally folds. I agree with every single ESPN announcer that says Boston is mentally tougher than Orlando. This is simple fact. This is not to say we're supposed to go out and crush opponents, but playing dumb basketball is playing dumb basketball. When we play dumb offensively, it gets into our heads and affects our defense.
Paying all those luxury taxes in order to lose to a team without its star, which we had beaten with such less salary total.... Priceless.
Great Defense early in the 1st half by the Celtics, and it was Rajon Rondo that carried them to the win. A hard loss to take but nothing for us to cry and whine about.
The better team won. For now.
Worst thing is that we lost to them without Paul Pierce

Does anyone find it funny that during the game, after the game, on espn, and on realgm everything was overreacting about how Boston was so good and Magic suck yet when the Lakers get creamed everyone makes excuses for them?
They always make excuses for LA And whenever Kobe has a bad game he's "sick"
This shows that Boston is better, they make Dwight a non factor offensively and are so good defensively. This team can't offensive rebound and creates no second chance points and has to many To's. Not to mention Rondo can dominate Meer and the guy grabs more offensive rebounds than Dwight. Its sad when we shoot like 30% and still can barely get an offensive rebound.
Hey guys, do you think the Magic purposely lost in order to not play on Christmas next year? So far, we've been playing on Christmas for the past couple of years. Maybe they should have some scrub team play on Christmas for once.

The only thing I like almost as much as a Celtics win is a Lakers loss. I got both on Christmas day. It was a tough one because I have really gotten to dislike the Cavs. They have become arrogant with no reasons to be arrogant and LeBron James has become insufferable. But, as much as I dislike the Cavs, I dislike the Lakers more. The ideal outcome would have been for both teams to spontaneously combust but since that didn't happen, a Laker defeat was the second best. Here is a bonus edition of Comments from the Other Side with the reaction to the Lakers' loss from around their boards.

Key to winning this game is simple. Keep them under 100. Cavs offense isn't anywhere as potent as what Lakers have. Ron-Ron will do his thing tomorrow. If the fans get tacos, Lakers win.

In case you hadn't noticed, our bench doesn't get it done ANY days. They are so overrated because Kobe and Pau are ussually out there with them bailing them out.
Lakers bench suck so much ass that Bryant and Pau have to log in heavy minutes just to keep this lead respectable because NOTHING is going to get accomplished out there with Sasha, farmar, and Odom alone.
The minute we play a physical team it shows how weak we really are. This 23-4 record is beyond overrated.
The Cavs are the better team today..by far.

Boston loses Pierce and they go into Orlando and dominated them.
Everybody disses Cleveland about how they cannot win with Shaq and the whole world is in love with the lakers 23-4, yet Cleveland comes into LA and hands us a ass whooping.
As it stands I say Boston is #1, Cavs #2, Lakers #3 and maybe Orlando at #4. Lets hope this changes later on the year.

Lucky for us nobody in the West is really close to Boston or Cleveland. Actually Bos and Cle may be the only 2 teams that play this well with this kind of style. Utah is similar but they are not that good yet.

This is bulls**t. This is not a merry Christmas. It was all Bynum's fault. He can't catch the ball, he's not looking. He was just standing there, afraid of Big mans.
There isn't anything positive to take out of this loss. Practically everyone, including the fans at Staples, made complete asses of themselves in front of the rest of the nation.
Here it is in a nut shell. We were out played & out worked. Cleveland came to play & we didn't. Kobe was awesome IMO, he stayed within the offense & was in attack mode all night. Had he gotten the favorable calls (that he should have) this would have gone down to the wire.
I don't want to blame it on the refs, it shouldn't be an exccuse..but those calls really affected the momentum of the game. Not only that it frustrated Kobe, Phil and also some of our players.
Pau Gasol has signed a 3 year extension close to $60 million. Now the Lakers are negotiating to extend Bryant for 3 years at over $30 million a year. Will those two max contracts, along with the money Bynum and Odom are making, hurt the Lakers chance of luring any top free agents? Those 4 alone put the team over the cap.
That's all it was......just one game. Only thing that sucks for us is now being tied with the Celtics again for over all HCA.
What was up with the LAL signing Pau to a big extention and then shutting him out like he didn't deserve it, what was that keep away the LAL were playing, we have a huge advantage at PF like they had at PG.
You act like Kobe played a good overall game, he should join Pau with all the whining and bad shooting he did.
On a side note, why is everyone elses 6th man kicking our 'Odom-maybe the most skilled, versital 6th man in the league' 's ass? Why does Odom miss every single rotation?
Our bench was pretty much useless again tonight, Kobe was gambling and getting killed on D except for the last 3 min he played in the game, Gasol was getting outplayed by Iggy and wiggy (Vara-Fro) and looked scared of Shaq and James, Bynum didn't look like he had the gas to play more than about 4 min at a time, Fish has heart but not a whole lot else, Odom was still playing a game with the clippers from about 6 years ago, Artest has all the man-D you could ask for but no shot, and we played maybe the worst team D of the season.
I'm pretty sure if we'd faced the Celtics team that beat Orlando without PP today, we'd have lost that one to. The Cavs and Celts are just damn good teams...

The Globe is reporting that Paul Pierce had a procedure on his knee this morning and will miss approximately 2 weeks.
Celtics captain Paul Pierce is expected to miss the next two weeks of the season after undergoing minor right knee surgery Wednesday.
Pierce was admitted to New England Baptist Hospital to undergo a procedure to drain an infection, the morning after scoring 21 points in the Celtics' 103-94 win over Indiana.
"Paul felt fine after the game," Celtics president of basketball operations Danny Ainge said. "He felt great. A few hours later there was swelling and pain, and so they put him through some tests this morning. Then, they went in and they felt like they needed to clean out the infection. It's nothing structural, and it's a guess, but they are saying two weeks. I'm always when worried when a player gets hurt but the good news is there was no structural (damage)." Pierce entered the hospital to have the knee drained but they discovered an infection and felt that they needed to clean out the infection.
The Celtics have called up Bill Walker from the Maine Red Claws to replace Pierce. Walker has been playing very well for Maine averaging 17.4 points, 6.4 rebounds and 1.8 assists per game. I am guessing that Doc will insert Tony Allen into the starting lineup in Pierce's place and bring Walker off the bench to back him up.

I'm seeing a big ugly loss
I see little hope of this not being a blowout.
It depends... The Celts have actually been better on the road this season than they have at home, and they've played lackluster against lesser teams like the Sixers. All that being said, the main strike against the Pacers is that they beat Boston earlier and the Celts haven't forgotten that.
I look at the Celtics starting 5 and I just see 5 players who are simply unlikable people. I seriously could never root for any of them. Well Perkins seems like a good guy, but I don't like by association
What the hell is wrong with Ray Allen?
Seriously. I've always seen him as a nice and charitable guy. Cold blooded (Ask the Bulls), but cool and smart.
PACERS WILL WIN IT BY 10
This is gonna be an ugly ugly loss. The Celtics are looking for revenge. They are getting ready to take the Pacers behind the woodshed for an old-fashioned A** whooping. The 4th straight loss is on its way!!
KG is not playing tonight
Even without KG, they're a lot to deal with, especially with us being one of the 5 losses
My game-time prediction of the night? Sheed is going to get a technical when he loses it when Hansbrough aggressively guards him.
Two possessions two turnovers for Boston. I’d like to say the Pacers had a hand in those, but Boston just threw ’em away really.
Boston is missing shots, would be a great chance to hit some shots and get a nice little cushion for when they heat up, but Pacers just aren’t taking advantage.

The Celtics are coming off a loss and we are coming off a win they are mad so I don't know what to expect during this game.
What will KG pull tonight?
Will KG pick on Flynn tonight? I could see him and Ryan Hollins getting into it tonight actually, Hollins doesn't back down to rudeness, If Hollins gets enough minutes while KG is in, I could definetly see those two getting it on.
I'm looking for how Jefferson and Love play against their front court
On the road in Boston? I expect this to be brutal. KG is going to shut Love down; I don't see how he can do anything against him.
Maybe I am the only one.. But I see a TWolves blowout. 29/17 for Love, 39/12 for Al, 14/24 for Flynn. Go wolves! (and KG too)

These announcers are great Every call that goes against Boston is wrong. It’s like Rasheed got an announcing job. That Rondo flop was definitely a defensive foul. He was in a decent location, but Sessions was smart and kept trying to go around him and Rondo kept stepping diagonally towards the arc to stay in his way until he let himself fall backwards.

Ever sine Hollins pulled a KG on KG, Garnett has been getting in his head. LOL, you want to get on KG's bad side, show him up and he will be pissed.
Games like this convince me that we can’t go forward with both Al and Kevin and ever expect to be a legitimate contender. Look at the team defense the Celtics are playing. So aggressive…every shot is contended. You can only do that when you have at least 1 great low post help defender on the floor at all times, and the Celts have 2
KG and Wallace both have a good 3-4 inches and a lot of wingspan on Love, and Perkins is just mammoth. Watch when they field Perkins with KG or Sheed….there is literally no way to get the ball into the paint.

I do still miss Garnett. His attitude has gone to the dogs since he got to Boston, but just his work ethic, his ability to anchor the defense and facilitate on offense.
When you really think about it, we aren’t any less talented now than when KG was here. He singlehandedly was turning one of the worst teams in the NBA into a respectable .500 club. I’d KILL to have a player like that again.
I think our defense has forgotten the three point line exists.

At least we got our offense to a respectable level (sorta…), but no way you’re going to win letting a team shoot 52% and take 35 free throws.
I'm telling you guys. Love is the next KG without the defense and slightly better rebounding.
41 in the first half makes 63 points in the second half somewhat irrelevant.
