Pierce out 2 Weeks

The Globe is reporting that Paul Pierce had a procedure on his knee this morning and will miss approximately 2 weeks.
Celtics captain Paul Pierce is expected to miss the next two weeks of the season after undergoing minor right knee surgery Wednesday.
Pierce was admitted to New England Baptist Hospital to undergo a procedure to drain an infection, the morning after scoring 21 points in the Celtics' 103-94 win over Indiana.
"Paul felt fine after the game," Celtics president of basketball operations Danny Ainge said. "He felt great. A few hours later there was swelling and pain, and so they put him through some tests this morning. Then, they went in and they felt like they needed to clean out the infection. It's nothing structural, and it's a guess, but they are saying two weeks. I'm always when worried when a player gets hurt but the good news is there was no structural (damage)." Pierce entered the hospital to have the knee drained but they discovered an infection and felt that they needed to clean out the infection.
The Celtics have called up Bill Walker from the Maine Red Claws to replace Pierce. Walker has been playing very well for Maine averaging 17.4 points, 6.4 rebounds and 1.8 assists per game. I am guessing that Doc will insert Tony Allen into the starting lineup in Pierce's place and bring Walker off the bench to back him up.
