Fiddlin' and Diddlin' - Daily Links 6/19 Friday, June 19, 2009 by FLCeltsFan 10:40 AM Herald Pat Riley awaits Dwyane Wade’s decision FL's Take: Everyone has been stocking up cap space and are salivating over the free agent class of 2010. What happens if all those big free agents decide to stay with their current teams? Lots of teams with cap space and nothing to do with it. Globe Globe 10.0: Anything to those trade rumors involving Rondo, Allen, and Perk? FL's Take: I tend to agree that these rumors have been pretty ridiculous. I think trading Perk or Rondo wouldn't make much sense. I take the Danny's denials with a grain of salt though because he traded Walker 2 weeks after saying that he had no plans to. And I recall listening to him on WEEI saying that there was no trade in the works just hours before he traded for Wally. You just can't believe what Danny says as he is so busy setting up smoke and mirrors. Offseason SWAGs and Reasonable PredictionsHoopsworld NBA AM: A Lot Of Confusion Yahoo Cutting Kevin McHale some slack FL's Take: Kevin McHale has always been one of my favorite Celtics. He is a very classy guy. When I got to see the Celtics in Miami I followed their bus back to the hotel and there were a lot of people looking for autographs and pictures in the lobby and the players all stood around patiently signing and posing for photos, even through they probably were anxious to get to their rooms and get something to eat. McHale was especially gracious (along with Chief) as he would get on his knees for pictures with kids or he would pick them up and spend time talking to them. I really hope he succeeds in life after the Wolves. NBA still shoulders burden of Donaghy NBA still shoulders burden of Donaghy FL's Take: They still shoulder the burden of Donaghy because nothing has changed with the officiating in spite of assurances from Stern that they have. Last season the officiating was horrible. We can point to many blown calls that cost teams playoff games. There still is a bias from the refs that indicates an agenda. And still no one is allowed to question the refs without being fined. Until Stern removes the untouchable status from the refs there will always be questions and they will always still have the burden of Donaghy following them. Celtics 17 Why We'll Never See Quite Another Basketball Phenom Like Michael Jordan Red's Army RedsArmy.com has arrived!FL's Take: Wow! They have their own hate site. I don't think I have ever seen a blog dedicated to hating another blog before. I've seen blogs hating teams and players, but another blog? David too Stern on NBA age-limit policyRondo imperative to Celtics’ success FL'a Take: I tend to agree that there is no reason to move Rondo. He is improving with each season and is still young. We blew it one time by giving up on a young point guard and have watched Chauncey Billups make us pay for it. Don't make the same mistake again. I also tend to believe that Perk is very important to this team's success and trading him is a big mistake as well.
