Atlantic Division Champs

The Celtics clinched the Atlantic division title with their win over the Heat. Everyone from Doc on down tried to play it down saying that Boston doesn't celebrate division titles. I was thinking back to the 2004-2005 season. In that season, the Celtics were so starved for success that when they won the division they were celebrating it. I also bought the Atlantic Division Champions tee shirt that was offered. I, too, was pretty much starved for success as a Celtics fan.
Last season, when the Celtics won the division, I was even more excited because I could feel that there was much more coming that season. But, it didn't stop me from buying the Atlantic Division Champions tee shirt just so I had something to commemorate it by. Then, they won the Eastern Conference championship and in the locker room, they made it clear that they weren't happy with the "silver ball" but wanted the "gold ball" instead. But, I ordered an Eastern Conference Champions tee shirt, just in case.
Then they won the championship and I went all out and got around 10 NBA Champions tee shirts. It had been a long time and I was going to celebrate. Now, the Celtics are once again the Atlantic Division Champions and you know what? I don't plan on getting this year's version of the Atlantic Division Champions tee shirt. Success has spoiled me so that now I don't want a division championship shirt, I want the 2009 NBA Champs shirts. So, yes, we are the Atlantic Division Champions once again, but like the Celtics, I am waiting for the "gold ball."
