Paul Pierce was the only Celtic who seemed to have a pulse in this one. Rondo played timidly and settled for jumpers rather than being aggressive and going to the hoop. KG, Perk and Ray were a step slow on both ends. The bench was ok at best. Paul Pierce with 31 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists, and 1 steal in 41 minutes had a nice game, but since he was the only Celtic who had a nice game, picking him for player of the game was a no-brainer.
The Celtic bench should and must step up ! Everytime the starters stuggle, it's up to the bench to make something happens. The little things help a lot like diving for loose balls, sacrificing their bodies for offensive fouls, etc.
Leon continues to do those things, even in limited minutes. But, the rest of the bench hasn't stepped up. And, as much as Leon hustles he doesn't have the height that at times we need. I hope Danny is working on a move to get more length and someone who will be consistent off the bench.
