Herald Celtics navigate bumpy road FL's Take: The Celtics are saying the right things. They know they haven't been playing their best. It isn't like they played their best game and then were beat. In every loss, the Celtics played terribly. They didn't play defense. They didn't put out the effort on the glass or the hustle to loose balls. They didn't play team ball and make the extra pass. They have been settling for jumpers. Sometimes, like against the Wizards, they fall. But, in the other losses they didn't. The Celtics haven't been taking the ball to the basket and that takes effort. It may be because of fatigue - either mental or physical. Whatever the reason, I am certain that they will pull out of it and be fine. Scouting report: Celtics at Bobcats FL's Take: The Bobcats have always given the Celtics problems. But, I expect the Celtics to come out focused in this one after losing 4 of their last 6. DUI charge for Antoine Walker FL's Take: This is very sad. Antoine was on the top of the world just a couple of years back with Miami and now he can't even find a team to take him and ends up with a DUI. But, his ego may have gotten the best of him and that is very sad. Defensive scheming lifted Knicks to upset of Celtics FL's Take: The Celtics didn't match the Knicks' defensive intensity. Doc didn't make the adjustments to it. The Celtics have always struggled when teams trap them but they could definitely have played better. They have to be ready for more teams to try this strategy against them because you have to know it is coming. How they adjust will say alot about this team. Globe Celtics in united state FL's Take: It is nice to see that they are sticking together. If they stick to ubuntu, they will be fine and get past this mini-slump. One vote for Marbury MetroWest Daily Celtics may be shooting for Marbury FL's Take: I still keep going back to Red Auerbach and what I have been reading in "On and Off the Court." He stresses time after time that character was a big deciding factor in who the Celtics drafted, traded for and played. That is what made the Celtics special. They were a classy team with players who had character. Marbury doesn't have character... He is a character. There is a huge difference. CelticsBlog I'm on a plain, I can't complain Italian Celtics Pride Interview with Steve Bulpett FL's Take: Fabio over on Italian Celtics Pride did a great job with this interview. Well worth the read. Red's Army Fred Jones? Basketball Statistics Beyond the Big Three Sporting News Q&A with Kendrick Perkins FL's Take: I love Perk! OC Register Since Christmas Day, Lakers are hot as Boston fades FL's Take: I wouldn't gloat too much if I were them. Still a lot of season left to go. The Lakers flat out messed the Celtics up Bostonist A tale of 2 upsets SI.com Antoine Walker arrested on DUI charge Simon on Sports Thoughts from MSG Nashua Telegraph C's might come up just short in 2009 Deadspin The Celtics dynasty has collapsed NBA.com Call up worthy talent plentiful at D-League showcase FL's Take: Danny is there taking it all in. He may see something he likes. I really think Walker or Giddens could help our bench. More than Tony is, anyway. Tony has been too inconsistent. Comcast SportsNet Questions for Doc (Re: Rondo) Wolves News Al Jefferson named Player of the Week FL's Take: I love Big Al and am glad to see him doing well. I really hated to give him up, even for KG. Maybe someday he will come back to the Celtics. Lex Nihil Novi More takes on Star Berry Interesting take on Starbury Reggie Lewis drops 24 as C's down Jazz (90-91) Brian Shaw finally takes command (90-91) The Bench FL's Take: The one thing our bench misses is consistency. They got that from Posey. Leon has been fairly consistent, but they need someone else to step up night in and night out. Success is a choice Enterprise Marbury deal would make sense for Celtics ESPN Power Rankings: Celtics sinking, Pistons back in top 10 Hollinger's Power Rankings, Cavs on top ProJo Celtics already setting sights on home court advantage for playoffs FL's Take: They have to play better for the Celtics to stay on top. The Cavs and Lakers especially have been playing too well for the Celtics to stumble.
