I can sum this loss in one word: depressing. Seeing how cocky Cavs fans are getting because of it is also depressing. But then again, most of the league see Celtics fans as cocky too.
I still think we'll beat them, but I really wish we were 100% healthy going into this one... Kinda ironic that Donyell Marshall is the reason our starting center is out for a month during our biggest stretch of games... Without Z this game will be tough. The Celtics will be primed to get out of their slump, we might have been better off if they beat Houston. Now they will be out for blood. I still think we can pull it out because LBJ seemed really focused in the post game interview after the Charlotte game. Our squad seems to be looking forward to this game to prove something and you know the crowd will be crazy pumped for this one.
Laker fan here , I have allways dream of finals between my lakers and your cavs . PS make it come true Go cavs and kill the Celtics I Hate the Celtics, hate everything they represent. Hate Garnet, total douche of a bag he is. So I would love to see them lose another game and show last year a fluke and they are the Miami Heat all over again.
There is no reason to lose this game...We own them at the Q with or without Z... This game is not as big as some people are making it out to be. This is a tale of two teams going in opposite directions. Cavs have not lost at home and the Celtics have been getting slapped around by the likes of the Bobcats and Warriors. It's all about keeping Rondo under control and letting him make mistakes. As stated before by others, I'm not sure Mo can handle his speed, so perhaps Delonte or even LBJ can offer an assist. He's been neutralized these past few games and its showed in the Celtics loss column.
Personally I'm most concerned with our limited offensive options down low. We'll need a big night from James as per usual, but our perimeter guys need to be aggressive and get inside. On the front page of nba.com picture of KG vs. LeBron in the post is shown. Kg looks like high school kid against our boy. I hope it will be the same on court today. I think Boston is going to come in mean and frustrated with their current play, and be wanting to prove they can get right back on track with the momentum. To compare, we'll also have to come with a chip on our shoulders, wanting to show the league we can beat the champs. I think it's likely going to be a nasty, lower scoring affair, like we've seen them have before. I want to see us drill them.....hard fouls....a scuffle....I just want to bitch slap them and shake their confidence worse than it already is. Andy will own Perkins The Cavs are sorta in a no-win situation against Boston.
Obviously if they lose, they not only drop to 0-2 on the season to the Celtics - but quite possibly they lose a lot of confidence. If the Cavs can't beat Boston at home when the Celtics are in by far their biggest slump over the past two seasons, do they really have a chance in the playoffs? Even if the Cavs win, it will be a victory that can easily be written off by Boston and even the national media as they are indeed in a major slump.
If Boston does win, they will regain their confidence as the first team to win in Cleveland and thus beating their toughest obstacle to returning to the NBA Finals. A win for Boston could get it all turned around for the Celtics. The national media will quickly ignore the slump if they can win in Cleveland and go on a little roll after. We know sooner rather than later the defending champs are going to get it turned around and win 7 or 8 in a row. Let's just hope that starts after tonight. Losing at home to a top rival is a bad thing, especially when they're down. But extending the Celtics slump is a win situation, no matter what. Both for the short term slump and the long term shot at getting the top seed. If we win we can damage the Celtics' psyche a little further by sending them to their 7th loss in 9 games. And at the same time, take a 1.5 game lead for the #1 seed. And extend our home record to 19-0. And watch KG and the rest of the bunch walk out of the Q dejectedly as they search for answers to their tailspin. I'd say there's a lot to gain with a win tonight. You have no idea how pumped I am for this game! I cant wait to see the Celtics suffer. Even on XBOX I use the Celtics and play the suckiest team and then on purpose take bad shots with the Celtics just to see them suffer ans lose. I want to see LeBron sitting on the bench for the full 4th quarter Laughing, smiling, and kicking his foot up in the air at good plays by the reserves in garbage time. Soo..I have to look at KG screaming and having his pie hole opened up so big you can stick David Stern in his mouth..and Gammera..errrr Pierce looking a turtle looking a beach to lay some eggs..and crome-dome Allen..looking like he just ate a pickle..yea....BEAT 'EM CAVS!!! The Cavaliers need this game more than the Celtics. I rather have the streak come to an end against the Thunder. If Rondo has a good game we will lose. If he doesn't we should be able to win unless we just can't score. Cavs got everything to lose I nthis game Celtics have noting to lose In all seriousness, I hope that LBJ will punk Pierce's lame ass so bad that instead of crying fake tears, he'll cry real genuine ones. I also hope KG caves in his chest during one of the punches. I always hope he breaks his neck when he smashes his head against the pad on the basket Our huge advantage is their inferior bench, and we need to impose our will in the late 1st early 2nd.. Delonte scores 40 tonite. I hope KG slips on a sweat puddle tonight. There is no reason to lose this game...We own them at the Q with or without Z... Boston's fan base appears to be as arrogant as their team Tonight is the exclamation that the Boston Celtics are no longer the big dogs of the EAST! I hope as KG is getting back on the bus after the beating by the cavs somebody hands him a *STFU* box with a pretty bow on it. I hope they lose Peirce to injury Pierce: So what you have to remember kids is that when you do fake an injury, there is no such thing as over acting. In fact, I highly recommend it. I hope someone throws a snowball and hits KG in the face.... Or a beer bottle.... Did anyone just see Avery Johnson say the Celtics don't need homecourt to win the championship this year... Did he see last year's playoffs? STOP PERKINS,why do all these bumbs kill us Ray Allen is getting some serious love from the Refs tonight!! Shoot, Rondo, Shoot!!!!!! Orlando up 71-33 on ATL Is Atlanta paying blindfolded? Sticking the Celtics with Orlando in the playoffs might be an even bigger advantage of being the 1 seed than home court. There's going to be a huge quality gap between 3 and 4 seeds this year... I think the defensive coordinator for the Celtics just wispered into the coaches ear ( So much for a reapet this year coach ) Bostons D is suspect Uggh not Powe. He always kills us.. Leon Powe just owns us. I can't stand that dude. Paul Pierce = Garbage That call on Pierce was a bit favored for us IMO, looked like James lost his steps and we got a bail out call.. But I'm not complaining, I'll gladly take it. As long as Powe stays out this game is ours. Wow I hate that garnett Are you kidding me?! All Rondo has to do is just fall down and the refs will bail him out The refs are taking over the game Wow can we get a call? All we have to do is look at rondo and its a foul Boston bench is weak so we should be fine thanks for posey not being there Paul peirce looks drunk I've got a feeling if we get a 15 pt lead Paul pierce will fake an injury to get out of the game... LeBron's making the truth look like a lie. I cant help but laugh when I see scalabrine Scalebrine (spelling... he's not important enough to know how to spell his name) sucks Cant wait to see KG yell all over scal and BIG Baby after they lose!! Leon Pow strikes again, this isn't game 2 of the Finals... Notice KG ain't talking no smack to Big Ben. He knows better! Finally a Boston sucks chant! The Celtics are clowns. At this point, I'm more concerned with the Magic. Dear Boston, Welcome to THIRD PLACE in the East. Wait a minute..are the Celtics crying???? I could have sworn I saw tears in Ray Allen and Paul Pierce's eyes.. This shows why Boston is a bunch of *****es who aren't even respecting the game enough to play defense. "Over-rated" "Over-rated" We are the best team in the league. Whoever said Celts aren't playing their best, too bad. Championship teams don't go through 2-7 stretches. Let them see us in the playoffs. I can't wait. I think some of you are missing the point. Sure this was just one game during the regular season, but the implications down the road are immense. Want proof? Look at the Celtics starters' reaction when they went to the bench. They were on the verge of tears. That is the reaction of a team that feels that they have have no chance. LeBron was better, the team was better, the execution was better. They tried everything. It was their chance to make a statement, and they failed. Cleveland, on the other hand, delivered a stomach punch of monumental proportions. That was the reaction of a team that realized their window is over. As for the Celtics, I have no clue what's wrong with them. I do know, however, that their bench is almost non existant. I also know that they sorely miss Posey, who always did a decent job on LeBron. It'll be interesting to see how long it takes for them to get out of this funk, and if they change up their roster at all. Statement win.
