CELTICS GREEN BLOG by and for boston celtics fans: Celtics at Cavs in Pictures 1/9

This picture kind of says it all. For most of the game the Celtics stood around and watched LeBron drive, shoot and dominate. It seemed as though LeBron did whatever he wanted. He finished with 38 points, 7 rebounds, 6 assists, 4 steals and 3 blocks. It was pretty sad to watch. It was like the Celtics have lost their fire They have forgotten how to play defense and their offense is sputtering.

Delonte West played great defense on Ray Allen. It really bothers me to see Delonte playing on their team. I really miss him. Delonte held Ray to just 12 points on 5-12 shooting to go with 3 rebounds, 2 assists and 1 steal. Ray played 40 minutes, which isn't the best for a player who is already worn out.

Rondo tried to be more aggressive in this game but didn't really succeed because the Cavs were playing such great defense. I remember not too long ago when the Celtics played that kind of defense. Rondo finished with 5 points on 1-8 shooting, 4 rebounds, 13 assists, and 4 steals.

Pierce has been the most consistent of the three stars during this slump, but LeBron smothered him in this game holding him to just 11 points on 4-15 shooting, 5 rebounds, and 1 assist. Pierce's defense on LeBron was non-existent.

KG finished with 18 points, 15 rebounds, and 3 assists. He looked very grim throughout the game and for good reason.

Perk played well early until he went out with another shoulder injury. He did return, though, and finished with 13 points but just 1 rebound, 1 assists and 1 steal. He seemed to be ok after coming back into the game, but like last time, it may tighten up on him after the game.

Gabe got some early minutes and finished with 2 points, 3 rebounds and 2 assists in 11 minutes of play. I really like this kid and hope Doc continues to give him minutes. I have a feeling that he is just going to keep getting better the more he gets to play.

Big Baby finished with 2 points, 3 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 steal, and 1 block in 16 minutes. Leon played 4 fewer minutes and finished with 8 points, 3 rebounds and 2 assist.

Eddie House is still struggling with his shot, going only 2-7 from the field in this game and finishing with 8 points, 2 rebounds, 1 assist and 1 steal. I'd like to see Gabe get a few more of House's 19 points. Scal played 6 minutes and had only 1 rebound to show for them. O'Bryant had a nice 4 minutes of garbage time with 4 points and 2 rebounds.

The Celtics looked very glum after this game. They have lost 4 in a row now and just seem completely lost. They appear to be tired and just don't have the defensive intensity that they had earlier in the year. The Cavs shot 51% to just 41% for the Celtics. The Cavs out rebounded the Celtics 42-30. The Celtics had good reason to look very glum.
