Comments from the Other Side - Trailblazers
by FLCeltsFan 8:50 AM
Once again, apparently the refs handed the Celtics the game. Yes, there were bad calls, but they went both ways. I am amazed by how much fans around the league really don't like KG. But if they had a chance to trade for him, I bet they wouldn't complain. My favorite comment was this one "It's Boston. If refs don't make a call, KG will intense all over the place." Only KG could make intense a verb.
I am so stoked for tomorrow's game. Its not really a "must win" but we must not get punked or pushed around or bullied. I know Garnett is gonna try to mess with Oden. I don't want our momentum killed by a demoralizing loss. If we lose this game it better be a hardfought competitive game and not a blow out with stupid KG hootin' and hollerin' People in the NBA are starting to think that KG is a fake thug and that he needs to be called out on all his antics, since he likes to talk tough, but can't back it up. Kevin Garnett needs to go back to college and take some classes, he is like 30 years old and still talks like some thug from high school. Before I heard him talk I thought he was smart. Just because he is older, so older people have more wisdom. But nope. The key to beating the Celtics is to pound the ball inside to Oden and get Perkins into foul trouble. After him they have a very short or bad back-up situation. The Celtic who concerns me most is Rondo. His pestering of Blake could be our Achilles heel this game. Ya know... I don't think we are going to lose this game.. I was reading an article on oregonlive.com and it gave me hope that we are level headed and ready for Boston.. Almost like the bully you know is going to try and take ur lunch money but you been practicing your quick right hook.. And its like . As soon as he approaches me...BAM!!! Ima drop him.. Lol.. But I mean we may not win.. But I wouldn't be surprised if we did.. I want to see Oden block every shot KG takes... Even if it is a goaltend. Just don't let the ball touch the rim. Ever. KG can score 50, as long as the ball never touches the rim.
Hopefully KG isn't an **** tomorrow. He seriously vaulted my hatred for the Celts to a whole 'nother level. You must channel your inner sea of calm, and realize that only these two franchises possess Bill Walton championship rings. Then and only then will you find peace. Very valid point, but in a sense, the fact that Walton got Boston titles is semi-depressing for me personally I almost wish Przybilla was still starting so that he could nip KG's trashtalk in the bud right off the bat. KG's terrified of anyone bigger than him, but Oden doesn't have the mentality for message-sending fouls like Przy does. I hope KG tries to pull a Rickert but doesn't connect and gets ejected. Kevin Garnett has and always will be a complete jerk. I'd say he even has a slight advantage over Kobe right now in that department. Say what you want about Kobe, but you would hardly ever see him taunting or taking a cheap shot on players like Garnett does on a nightly basis. They have a ridiculous concentration of talent in their starting unit, but not much in the way of talent off the bench after Leon Powe. Our second unit is arguably the best in the league. Half of Boston's fans are bandwagon jumpers. When KG and Ray went to Boston they ran onto the Celtics wagon. Lmao its disgusting. Fake fans. Gotta love em [from a Lakers fan] Pulling for you guys tonight Trailblazers. Go show Boston what the WESTis made of!!!! If I were a Celtics fan I would be pretty damn confident tonight. Boston is just a better team, and they are playing at home. I love that BRoy is talkin right back to Pierce, and then droppin shots right in his face I love how KG gets away with going up to players and getting in their face with trash talking and the refs let him do it because it's how he shows he's "intense." I've lost so much respect for KG the last two years, it's incredible. Used to be one of my favourite players. And I know the Celtics are "the champions", so why do they need help from the referees? It is annoying though to see Boston get all the ticky tack calls and us get nothing, but I guess that's what home court is about The refs sent the Celtics to the line several times when they weren't even touched. Remember the play where Pierce penetrated and stopped, and Roy was backing up and they called a foul on Roy? Roy didn't even touch him. The refs are letting Roy get hammered. I know the Celtics are good, but we're beating ourselves just as much as theyre beating us. The refs are usually bad in the NBA but they are in no way the reason for this game at all. Every single player on our team is playing like garbage. There isnt one single player playing well and it doesn't even look like theres one person who really cares right now either We need a 24 to 0 run to take the lead. Gimme a break, the fans that are trying to blame this loss on the refs. STFU. Seriously. We got outplayed bad. Again. But the real difference for me is our inability to do anything about Rajon Rondo. He was far too quick for Blake who couldn't stay in front of him, and clearly Sergio couldn't do any better. It's Boston. If refs don't make a call, KG will intense all over the place. "Big Baby" crying. Classic. Made my whole night. It sucks because Oden wanted to be aggressive out there, you can tell. Then the refs give him some ticky tacky fouls that just take him out of the game which does a number on his confidence. He is a big body, he is going to make contact with people, let them play on for petes sake! I hope that with time the officials will learn how to officiate him. Scalabrine for Frye.....do itttt

Player of the Game - Kendrick Perkins
by FLCeltsFan 12:46 AM
There has been a lot of talk about the matchup between the Celtics center and the player who could have been the Celtics center if the ping pong balls had rolled differently. Perk proved once again that he is one of the best post defenders in the league. In a head to head matchup with Greg Oden, Perk clearly came out on top. Perk: 12 points, 12 rebounds, 2 assists Oden: 5 points, 6 rebounds, and 6 fouls Perk proved yet again that he is a beast.
A close second for player of the game was Leon Powe who brought energy off the bench and had a great all around game.

Blazers at Celtics in Pictures 12/5
by FLCeltsFan 12:08 AM
Perk definitely won this round with Greg Oden. Perk finished with another double double of 12 points, 12 rebounds and 2 assists. Oden was in foul trouble much of the game and finished with just 5 points, 6 rebounds and fouled out for the first time in his young career.
Rondo was once again impressive with 16 points, 8 rebounds, 7 assists and 2 steals and continued to have his way on the court. He had some beautiful assists including another alley oop to KG and he also hit a 3 to beat the buzzer at the end of the third quarter. Hear that crunching sound? It is Gary Payton eating his words.
Pierce had another sub-par game with 13 points and 4 rebounds. But then again, they didn't need him to take over the game. You have to feel that if he was needed, he would come through as he has so many times. There was a lot of trash talk between Pierce and Roy though.
If you saw these two guys waiting for you in the paint, would you be feel confident going at them? Perk is taking his game to another level and was quite beastly in this one. KG finished this game with 14 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists.
Ray had a solid game with 19 points, 2 rebounds and 1 assist. It seems that when the team needs a big basket, Ray is there to hit one.
This game was very physical. The Blazers were determined not to let the Celtics push them around. Amazingly, the Celtics didn't gather any more technicals in this game.
Big Baby had a tough game. The starters built a big lead and Doc put the subs in to finish the game. But when the Blazers bench had cut a 25 point lead down to 11, Doc had to put the starters back in. KG seemed to be running the huddle and grabbed Big Baby and pulled him into the huddle and had some words with him that resulted in Big Baby living up to his nickname and ending up on the end of the bench in tears. I hope that Big Baby can learn and grow from this experience and not let it hinder his growth. Intensity is a good thing, but when you make your teammates cry, maybe it is time to mellow a little.
Patrick O'Bryant and Pruitt each played about 4 minutes with O'Bryant pulling down 2 rebounds. Leon Powe was the only player off the bench who had a good game finishing with 14 points, 4 rebounds, and 1 assist. Eddie House finished with 3 points, 2 rebounds, and 3 assists. Big Baby finished with just 2 rebounds. Scal also finished with just 2 rebounds. The bench definitely needs more contributions from everyone. Leon did his job, but that was about it.
In spite of the bench struggles, this was a solid 93-78 win against the team with the second best record in the Western conference and an up and coming very talented team.
Quick... who's missing? When they took the team picture before the game, Rondo was stuck in traffic and missed out on the picture. But, they took a picture of him by himself and will somehow photoshop him into the picture.

Comments from the Other Side - Pacers
by FLCeltsFan 8:27 AM
Have the Celtics feed, booo. Get to listen to homers all night. Back-to-back wins over the Lakers and Celtics back-to-back nights doesn't sound too bad. I wonder if it's ever happened that a team has beaten the 2 teams in the finals the previous year and beat them back-to-back nights? Pacers = Giant killers Wow this will be the hardest game so far may be of the entire season. It is hard to forget for the Celtics players what we did to them earlier. I'm pretty sure garnett is holding a grudge against us After beating them last time and beating the Lakers last night, there's no way we catch them sleeping. Chalk this up as a loss and move on. I'd love to get my hands on whoever created the Pacers schedule! Just give me a telephone book and five minutes alone with them. What a pace these 2 teams are running! Hope the Pacers still have gas in their tank by the 4th qtr Heiny is not bad tonight. He sounds more crazy than homer right now. I'm saying we're getting lucky breaks and that's why we're winning rather than slightly losing. Rondo should have forty assists the way he's drive and dishing right now. Celtics sideline reporter talking about how the Celts would've taken Danny in the draft if it weren't for the Pacers picking him just ahead of them. I'm glad we didn't get stuck with Green like they did We made the right choice Boston really turning up the defensive intensity. What's Dunleavy's status? I think our trainers are only qualified enough to pronounce him still living. We are LUCKY Pierce's shot is off tonight. Pierce with the AIRRRRRRRRR BAAAAAAALLLL !!! The best player in the world just airballed. Pierce is horrible. I can't imagine what this would be like if all 3 of them were playing to their level. Pierce just passed up an open 3 to a guarded Ray Allen, who passed it back to Pierce for a wide-right airball. How do you let Rondo outrebound you, Hibbert? The Celtics love the baseline, huh? Yeah, we should force him to the middle. We like to force people baseline. He's not supposed to get around though. Rondo is killing us there. Rondo is absolutely destroying us. Ugh, Boston's playing like a championship team. The defense is excellent for them and we're taking dumb shots. Our panicking is really annoying. Allen and Garnett are playing incredibly well. KG taunted Ford a couple minutes ago guarding him up the floor.. If he is going to pick on anyone, he needs to pick on someone his own size.
Wait, is Kendrick Perkins "Baby Shaq" now? Not that they're biased one way or the other, but are the refs on a time delay tonight? I've seen at least a half dozen fouls called two or three seconds late. Yesterday down 15 beginning 4th quarter, now only 14. We are gonna win this one I'd like to think that lightning could strike twice, but I don't think the Celtics are suffering from short-term memory loss. Maybe Doc Rivers will forget Rondo is on the team. Not having Tony Allen available to Boston helps the Pacers in this quarter Celtics with KG = Defending Champion and Primary contender Celtics without KG = 45 win team Great chance for the Pacers to make a run against an ice cold pierce and a bench which has brought nothing..
Doc allowing this to get close without KG, Ray or Rondo on the floor Ray and KG are just too much tonight it looks like KG has been silent other than the blocks and mid range jumpers. We are just underrating Allen by not guarding him like a wet t-shirt. 22/13/4 blocks isnt really silent They are just having their way with us right now.. It was bound to happen... But I guarantee you the next game we have against them.. Rondo is begging to get injured though. No shame in giving it up to Rondo though... Dude's good. In continuing with the phenomenon of the season... Rondo get's his 1st triple double of the season
We always let some scrub have the game of their career. Maybe we should try playing some defense. What a novel idea.

Pacers at Celtics in Pictures 12/3
by FLCeltsFan 7:26 AM
Does this ever look like a mismatch! Kevin Garnett had one of his best games of the season with 26 points, 14 rebounds, 3 assists, 1 steal, and 4 blocks. Rondo and KG connected on 2 spectacular alley oops which seems to becoming one of their regular plays.
Paul Pierce had just 16 points, 5 rebounds, 1 assist, and 1 block. But he didn't have to be dominant on the scoring end because everyone else picked up the slack. He also played defense on Danny Granger who had scored 31 against the Lakers and held him to 20 points.
In spite of big games by Ray, Perk, and KG, Rondo was the story of the game. He finished with the first triple double for a Celtic since 2006 and the first for a Celtic guard since DJ did it in 1987. His final line was 16 points, 13 rebounds, 17 assists, and 3 steals. Anyone who still doubts this kid take notice. He is for real and is just going to get better. He definitely got the best of TJ Ford who finished with 15 points and 8 assists.
If it wasn't for Rondo's spectacular game, Ray Allen would have been the player of the game. He was hitting from everywhere and finished with 31 points and 4 assists.
This game went so well, even Patrick O'Bryant got some playing time. He finished with 2 points and 3 rebounds in 4 minutes or play. Not bad. I still think there is hope for this kid.
Rondo is one of the best rebounding point guards in the NBA. He consistently out leaped and outsmarted much taller players to get the rebounds. And one thing is for sure, when Rondo gets the ball, you better take off quickly because he is about to make something good happen on the other end.
Perk welcomes Rondo as he leaves the court. Perk had a pretty good game himself with a double double of 16 points, 10 rebounds and 1 assist. He also made it very uncomfortable for the Pacers to venture into the paint. Best of all, Perk played over 28 minutes without one technical foul.
The bench was short handed with Tony Allen sitting out to rest his ankle and with the dominance of the starters, they didn't need to take over. Leon Powe finished with 2 points and 5 rebounds and once again had a monster dunk on a put back. Big Baby had 2 points and 1 rebound. Scal was 1-4 for 3 points. Eddie House was 0-4 with 3 rebounds, 1 assist, and 5 fouls. Gabe Pruitt was active again for this game after a bout with the flu that keep him on the inactive list for two games.
In the post game interview, Rondo clearly had a fat lip. He collided with TJ Ford earlier in the game and had to leave the game for a few minutes afterward.
Now, that's a game face!!!
And, you really have to wonder what KG is saying here.

Player of the Game - Rajon Rondo
Wednesday, December 3, 2008
by FLCeltsFan 10:14 PM
We have no shortage of candidates for Player of the Game in this game. Every starter was in double figures tonight. Two players, KG and Perk, had double doubles. Ray Allen had a season high 31 points. But, the player of the game has to be Rajon Rondo. He had the first triple double for a Celtic since Ryan Gomes had one in Novmeber of 2006. He is the first guard with a triple double since DJ did it in 1987.
He had a triple double of 10 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists with 10:30 left in the third quarter and finished with 16 points, 13 rebounds, 17 assists, and 3 steals. He also ended up with a fat lip courtesy of a collision with TJ Ford's head. How much fun has it been to watch Rondo improve game by game? And, he is still young and will just continue to get better.

Comments from the Other Side - Magic
by FLCeltsFan 9:31 AM
Once again much of the conversation centered around the officials and the Celtics announcers. I can't believe how much hatred for the Celtics there is around the league. I was stuck watching the Orlando announcers and if you ask me, they are almost as much of a homer as the Celtics announcers are. They started the game out by talking about how much the Celtics whine and complain. And, they complain about the officials almost as much as Tommy does. The fact is, everyone likes to hear a bias toward their own team. I love the last comment "Can we go back to playing crappy teams now?" Too funny!
I don't feel good about this one, let's hope the Celtics have a huge off-night. Allen will probably kill us.
For some reason I have a feeling the magic win this game, either that or get blown out of the stadium. This game will be tough. I don't think we have a chance of winning IN Boston without 2/5 of our starting lineup. At the very least, I'm hoping it won't be a blow out.
Pierce is a moron Considering how Boston played last night versus charlotte, I am not terribly concerned. One thing is certain and its that Boston isnt going to throw a bunch of points up on the board. So, as long as our offense doesn't go flat we will be right there...if we come out with a good defensive effort, we win Tony Allen is no Magic Killer, if you remember one of last year's meetings, he missed a point blank lay-up that would've won them the game.
We should be able to win because they may have an elite sg,sf, and pf which is their big three but do they have an experienced pg, an Elite center, and a great supporting cast?...don't think so. I'm not that concerned with Ray Allen but Pierce concerns me a great deal. He has always killed the Magic and he licks his chops whenever he faces Turk. He scores at least 30 tonight.
I know this is a little early but if Ray Allen scares us just imagine the Kobe matchup in 6 days. I already have cold sweats.
God I hate this version of the Celtics. Pierce = crybaby, flabby, "never fouls", clutch. KG = Has the moniker of "intense" when all he does is scream, talk ****, and get punked by white boys. Rondo = looks like an alien, never misses against us. Scalabrine = looks like the mascot. Eddie House = Beats on himself Joakim Noah style every time he hits a shot. Magic have enough power to beat Boston all we need is equal refrees. When Magic play with elite teams sometimes refs wear that teams uniform, just that scare me, Garnett is from the "Carmelo Anthony School of Fighting" Sneak in a sucker punch, run, hide behind teammates, then scream and yell some more for good measure. Finally, have the media label you "intense". Lets see how tough Garnett is this game Let the hacking begin. Stupid refs. I have to admit, I've always disliked the Celtics. Every single season, I've disliked the Celts. I have done so since the beginning. Never liked them. But I must admit, now... I don´t dislike them anymore. I hate the Celtics. What a bunch of whiners !!!
LOL. Peace out, Sammie!!!! Can't believe the refs actually called a T on them.
Boston gets away with a lot refs are giving the Celtics a lot of leeway :-/ We just can't win when Bob Delaney refs our games: I really think there's gonna be a fight in this game....you can already see the edginess...in particular with d12/Perkins/kg Am I the only one who really hates this Boston team and cant wait to play them in Amway at full strength!!! i don't like this Celtics team They're so fake and whiny We all know if they had faced the magic in the playoffs, we'd be in the finals... But unfortunately... Our team had the syndrome called "CantBeatPistons" I have no respect for the Celtics at all. I hate their team. They look like a bunch of goobers. Celtics automatic reaction after a play is to complain...its instant What is with this team and scrub small guards always shooting the lights out against us? Why did David Stern manufacture these guys again? I'm calling it, Delaney has money on this game Scalabrini is a Magic killer
Right now he's a magic giver... We're scoring and rebounding all over his sloth-like defense Lol @ the Celts announcers complaining about physical play. I'm not saying Orlando haven't been bumping them and there hasn't been contact, but c'mon - Boston are the most physical team in the league. You dish it out - and I have zero problem with them playing a physical game - you have to take it back. I'm sure the majority of the Celts don't have too much of a problem with the nature of tonight's game They're Boston... They're all whiners and complainers... If it ain't the Boston way, it's GAAAAAHBEDGE Sam Cassell just got double technicaled up, BYE BYE!!! I could really get used to this kind of officiating. I believe we own this team when we are healthy At hope at some point during the season...A Boston player is punched in the face...Its a long time coming KG is such a punk....he CLEARLY was holding Rashard's arm on the play so Rondo could get the easily layup Wow....am I the only one that is seeing all the moving screens that the C's do??? It's so obvious Sweet Baby Moses, I just heard the Boston colour guy say "If the Celts do that, it's a foul". Can he actually be serious!?!?! They play a more physical style than any other team in the league, and are allowed to by the refs, and he is crying about calls that go against them. Unbelievable Pierce majored in crime and delinquency habits huh? ...no kiddin Can not stand their announcers! That one dude with the heavy accent swears the Celtics can do no wrong and that every player on their team is coated in platnum. So annoying to listen to. Okay. Perkins needs to be suspended for that foul. You don't choke anyone, much less a superstar Wow, So Powe can just man handle Shard all night an no foul is called. Glen Davis can set moving screens all over the place and not get called. Can push Magic players out of the way for rebounds and not get called. You know if House was on our team he'd brick everything. Rondo, Allen, Pierce and KG are all shooting over 60% in this game. D is suspect in this one. I got to tip my hat to these Celtics defenders. They know how to shut down our best guy and I don't think the Lebrons will be able to give this team a scare like last season There's was a particular foul that Perkins committed where he wrapped his arms around Dwight's neck. Something needs to be done about that one. Either our teammates have to do something or the officials. How that wasn't a flagrant is simply unacceptable. I truly hate them all.. I don't care about their pasts, KG is a trash talkin puss, Rondo is out there acting like he is a top 25 PG in this league... Okay, maybe I don't hate them all, but KG and Rondo can go somewhere, if you know what I mean. Oh and I hate the refs too..If there Celtics are soo good, they shouldn't need all these BS calls to help them beat a depleted magic team Man the refs do let Boston get away with a lot of pushing, by far the most pushing that I seen a Magic opponent this year. Must be perks of being a champion. We lossed more badly then I thought we would. I don't like it when we lose Take away Rondo, Allen, and Allen and tell me how much they win by tonight. That's all I'm saying.
I didn't say anything before the game because I didn't want to see it but Perkins actually gives Dwight more problems than Garnett it seems
Ok can we go back to playing crappy teams now?

Giddens Shines in OT Loss

Player of the Game - Rajon Rondo
by FLCeltsFan 8:32 AM
Rajon Rondo once again controlled the tempo and was aggressive on both ends of the court. He is doing a great job of making the right decision on when to take the shot himself and when to find an open teammate. He is developing new moves with every game. He finished with 16 points, 4 rebounds, 12 assists, and 1 steal.

Magic at Celtics in Pictures 12/1
by FLCeltsFan 7:36 AM
Perk finished the night with 8 points, 13 rebounds, 1 steal, 1 block, and his 9th technical of the season. But Perk's biggest contribution doesn't show up in his stats. His biggest contribution was his defense on Dwight Howard who was held to just 14 points which is well under his average.
One thing the should give Celtics' opponents pause for thought is the fact that the Celtics are 17 and 2 and have won 9 games in a row and KG has yet to have a huge game. Last night he finished with 15 points, 9 rebounds, and 1 assist. Maybe he is waiting to unwrap his big game on Christmas day.
Rondo continues to make his case for making the All Star team with 16 points, 4 rebounds, 12 assists, and 1 steal. He is so much fun to watch.
Ray Allen continues to scorch the nets with 21 points on 8 of 13 shooting to go with 1 rebound, 2 assists and 1 steal. He played 40 minutes, which was the most of any Celtic.
Paul Pierce again led the team with 24 points, 7 rebounds, 2 assists and 1 steal. What makes this team so tough is that they can win in so many ways. They can win with all 3 stars struggling. But in every game, someone steps up. It may be a starter or it may be the bench or it may just be a balanced attack with no one standing out. It makes it hard to double anyone because so many others can hurt you.
Tony had a solid contribution of 6 points, 1 rebound, 2 assists, and 1 steal. He gave us a scare as he limped off the court with an ankle injury but he later returned to play well and didn't show any sign of a limp.
Big Baby is emerging as a very good defender and did a good job on Howard when he filled in for Perk. He finished with 4 points, 4 rebounds, and 1 assists. Eddie House continued his hot shooting off the bench with 11 points, 3 rebounds and 1 steal.
The refs were tech happy last night as 8 technical fouls were called: 5 on the Celtics and 3 on the Magic. Sam Cassell was tossed after picking up 2 technicals on the bench. Even Rondo picked up a technical. It seems as though the refs are listening to the complaints of the other teams who say that the Celtics are too physical and do too much taunting. They are very quick to blow their whistles. I worry that Perk having so many technicals this early is going to come back to haunt the team in the playoffs.
The Celtics weren't the only team playing physical ball. The Magic gave as much as they got.
