As one Pacers fan put it, thankfully Indiana Pacer Danny Granger makes millions so he'll be able to afford to repair his million dollar smile. Granger scored 20 points as the Pacers put the Celts through their paces in a blowout beating Saturday, 95-79, giving Boston its first loss. The C's went 12-0 in 2007-08 and swept Indy 3-0 in the season series. However, this year, a sluggish and flat C's team was unable to hold off an early season loss.
It was in the 4th quarter where Granger battled Pierce for a loose ball only to have his two front teeth knocked out as his head hit the floor face first with Pierce landing on top of him. The toothless Granger then ran off the court to the locker room flashing his gums to Coach O"Brien as he ran by. Only to return moments later and finish the game.
The C's were only down 48-41 at the break, but the Pacers were able to force 24 turnovers and hold Boston to 4-20 from 3 point range and 35% from the field. Indy was up by as much as 25 points in the 4th when Doc Rivers pulled his starters. The final indignation in the face of the defending champs came when Jarrett Jack hit a 3 as the final buzzer sounded handing Boston a 16 point defeat.
