FL's Take: I think this is a terrible trend. Athletes make enough that they don't need to charge for autographs so I suspect that it is the companies sponsoring the signings that are doing the charging. When I followed the Celtics' bus back to their hotel in Miami back in 1991, all of the Celtics gladly signed autographs and posed for pictures. They were so classy and gracious to their fans. I know they were tired after the game and probably anxious to get something to eat and unwind but Parish, McHale, DJ and all stood in the lobby of the hotel talking to fans, signing, and posing for over an hour. The fans are the reason they are paid what they are and it would be a very bad thing to alienate the fans by charging for autographs.

FL's Take: I think JR's tattoo is pretty cool. It shows how excited he is to be a Celtic. So what if he is traded to another team. His heart will always be with the team that drafted him and gave him a chance.

FL's Take: It seems to me that things may be a bit strained this season since the Spurs were against Ginobili participating in the Olympics and now he is out for the beginning of the season because of the surgery.

FL's Take: My prayers are with those in the storm's path. Thankfully it wasn't as strong as they had at first predicted. I am praying that the levees hold and there is no damage. If the Hornets do have to relocate for some reason, Seattle has an available arena. That would be irony.

FL's Take: As long as the Celtics stress defense and make that their primary focus, they will remain on top. Other teams are seeing how effective the Celtics' defense was last season and are looking to sign players with a reputation for defense. The Celtics have Tom Thibodeau though and that puts them at the head of the pack.
