Globe Big win is this team's dream FL's Take: As I write this, the game is about to start and the winner will face Spain who just beat Lithuania. Queen Mother FL's Take: I love Lisa Leslie. She is my favorite player. She has been one of the classiest players in basketball for her entire career and has accomplished a staggering legacy as a player and ambassador for the game. CelticsBlog Taking a pass on Donyell Marshall Sports blogging 102: Community is king FL's Take: I love the Celtics community. I love all the blogs and boards and posters that I come across day in and day out. Celtics fans are the best. LOY's Place Rumors and free agent updates - looking for centers edition Hoopsworld The summer of 2010 NBA's best road teams One last run for Sam Cassell in Denver? TrueHoop The Sixers are fantastic Hardwood Paroxysm Assigning credit for game outcomes FL's Take: Nice to see someone recognize that Kobe's selfishness has hurt his team. AM New York Beware Argentina Review Journal Pierce and Antoine spotted at high roller salon in LV FL's Take: Come on Paul.... get to work. The season is nearing and you can't rest on your past accomplishments. Other teams are out there working hard to beat the Celtics and if the Celtics don't work just as hard, they will be in for a big fall this season. Connecticut Post China, 800,000 baskets., and ....India? SLAM This green never fades Sports of Boston Celtics player review: Kendrick Perkins FL's Take: I love Perk. As I have said many times, Perk's value to the team is not in the box score but all the things he does to help the team win that don't show up in the box score: setting picks, defending the paint, being an intimidator, boxing out for teammates to get rebounds, etc. When Perk didn't play in game 5, his importance was seen by the way Gasol and Odom dominated without him there to stop them. And, he is going to keep getting better. SI.com Top free agents still on the market Ballerblogger Baller of the day: Dennis Johnson FL's Take: DJ was one of the best and never got the credit he deserved for it. It is an absolute travesty that DJ isn't in the Hall of Fame. ESPN Team USA looking forward to renewing rivalry with Argentina HoopsAddict NBA's most underrated players Vote for Leon (Voting ends Saturday) FL's Take: I am heartbroken that the Pistons' fans were able to get more votes for Maxiell than the Celtics got for Leon. But then again, I imagine there are a lot of Lakers' fans, Cavs' fans, and others voting for Maxiell along with the Pistons' fans. Leon is better, no matter how the voting ends. Lex Nihil Novi Rethinking O'Bryant Round 2 begins in Ainge battle ABA Interludes Examiner Donyell Marshall is a modern day athlete with an old school approach to money FL's Take: This reminds me a lot of the stories I have read about Larry Bird. He always was frugal and there are many stories about things like this where Larry refused to buy something because he felt they were overcharging.
