Herald Celtics make offer to James Posey
FL's Take: I am thinking that the sticking point is the length of the contract. My guess is that Posey wants 4 or more years and Danny is offering 3. Hopefully they can come to an agreement because Posey is very valuable to this team in so many ways and I don't want to see him on the Lakers, Pistons, Cavs, Nets or Hornets. Not only would losing him hurt the Celtics but it would also help most of their top rivals.
A new deal on Doc-ket
FL's Take: Doc has earned an extension but whether he wants to continue coaching, that is the question. The bigger concern is whether the Celtics can sign his assistants. Thibodeau and Ray are crucial in my opinion.

FL's Take: Maggette is a surprise. He never seemed like the sacrifice for the good of the team ubuntu type of player. He also doesn't seem like the defensive stopper that Posey has been. I don't know if it is Maggette OR Posey of if they are trying to get Maggette AND Posey. It would seem that since Magette was making 7 million last season and was looking at more than that, they don't have anything to offer other than a chance for a ring unless there is a sign and trade somewhere. I think he is a long shot at this point.
