Even the Laker fans recognize how important Perk is to this team. With all the slapping, hitting, pushing, and reaching in that the refs allowed the Lakers to do, some Lakers' fans still complained about the refs. Amazing. After watching the officiating in this game, I wouldn't be surprised if the refs got another one of those memos to stretch the series out. The series now shifts back to Boston and hopefully the Celtics can close it out in 6. It is pretty funny that when the Celtics were cutting into those leads, the fans were ready to throw the whole team under the bus but when they pulled ahead at the end, they were all forgiven. Bottom line, the Celtics are the better team. Hopefully they can stay healthy enough to close it out. Enjoy these comments from the other side!
We gotta win this to at the very least keep them from winning in LA. Even if we don't win this all, let's make these smug mf'ers bleed a little. PeePee dancing on our home court... Unacceptable. The simple fact that overcoming a 3-1 Finals deficit has never happened before shouldn't be an overwhelming negative force... It really should be the ultimate positive force. The Lakers are pretty evenly matched with the Celtics, add that to the fact that every game so far has been close, add that to the fact that even through badly ref'd games towards both teams it was still close, The Celtics have veterans willing to give and take good advice. Great point regrading their vets. Every time out, I see Cassel and PJ talking to their players. Now I know Cassel wants to be a coach and all but we lack that. Let's go make history. Please. I think whoever wins this game wins in blowout fashion. If the Lakers come with the mentality that they can still win this game and series for the full 48, will win running away, but if we wither right away, they'll run us off the floor. Mentality is everything tonight; our guys have to bring it. Phil needed bulletin board material? NBA store already has the Celtics championship DVD for sale. Wow! I know that things look grim for the Lakers, but to already have a 2007-08 Boston Celtics Championship video available to buy is a huge slap in the face I sure hop that Phil uses this to motivate his guys before Game 5...
Yeah....David stern planned this all out..he knows the outcome of the series. So disrespectful.....Kobe and The Lakers are gonna go insane just for that. I'm seeing shades of Jerry Stackhouse on TV talking about the Mavs' parade route after Game 2's surprising victory over Miami. This could be our fuel! LETS GO LAKERS!!! This series is not over yet, with the best player on your team. Its never over. I still believe we can win this series. It ain't over. I'm not saying it's going to be easy, but it can be done. It all starts tonight, one game at a time. Go LakersI still believe we can win this series. It ain't over. I'm not saying it's going to be easy, but it can be done. It all starts tonight, one game at a time. Go Lakers As we all know the first few minutes will show us if the lakers will fold their tents or if the Celts would like to win it at home... Other than Kobe, Fish and Sasha there are some issues with mental toughness with the rest of the squad. I wouldn't be surprised if Kobe had to carry the team again like game 3. When a team like Boston has the injury problems they do... It ISN'T over! The problem with the "injuries" is that they're not injured...they might be dinged or have a slght tweak but damn near every one of them had to be taken to the locker room sometimes with assistance and all of a sudden they reappear as if nothing was wrong...I think the only one that hasn't played after the injury yet is Perkins I just DON'T want to see the Celtics win the championship on our home court. We have to defend it. I anticipate the crowd is going to be crazy. Also, losing in 6 or 7 games is at least somewhat respectable. Losing in 5 games, and losing 2 out of 3 games at home, is outright PATHETIC.
- Perkins being out will help us a lot, one less big man for them to push us around with Come on boys, 4 quarters of this and they don't stand a chance,. Lakers showing real heart... Out to a big lead Go lakers! 39 points. They didn't do that game 4. Sorry, not gonna get excited about a big lead this time. I wonder how long it will be until the Celtics mentally pack it in and just decide to finish it up at home in Boston? Yeah kind of like how they packed it in in Game 4 huh? The problem with this start is that it doesn't make me feel at all comfortable. We did the exact same thing on Thursday night. The Celtics are not afraid, they already know they can comeback from any deficit we have on them. It just sucks that Ray Allen chose this series to get his shooting touch back Why is Mihm and Walton in at once? Does Phil realize that we are down 3-1?? Lakers can't be trusted with a lead. Celitcs 8-0 run. Not this comeback crap again! I never thought I'd say that, but I'm starting to have doubt about Phil's coaching..... To be honest.. I would rather take our lumps in the 2nd quarter vs. The 3rd. Having big leads are great-- but history has proven that we cant rely on that. This will be won in the 3rd quarter and this is where we need to strike. Why cant Kobe attack like pierce? Are the Celtics doing it deliberately, letting us feel like we're so comfortable in the beginning and then bite you like a freaking snake throughout the whole 2 half and the 2 Q ?! Yes ! They are ! I don't think anyone is giving up, just utterly disgusted with what they're seeing. You don't blow 24 then 19 point leads at home in the NBA finals as easily as the Lakers did. Something is seriously wrong. Pierce is on another planet right now The Celtics is such a great defensive team. Even at this point Im still in awe on how they can plug that spacing the triangle provides so quickly. And it's shocking just how easily Paul can blow by Kobe in this series. Funny how after that call on Garnett, the Celtics have gotten every single bad call in this game. We'd be up 10 if it weren't for the whistles.
We were third in the league in offense. The Celtics play great defense, but our offensive woes are not all due to the Celtics' defense. You just knew James posey was going to knock down some sort of 3...and it comes as pierce hits the deck and travels...uhg...lakers look like they are playing scared.... Face it there is nothing anybody can do to prevent the Celtics from winning the title on our floor tonight. We have thrown everything at them. Up by 24 they came back, up by 19 they came back, up by 14 they came back. Their better is simply better than our better. James Posey and his normal dirty play. Man these refs are getting on my nerve everytime gasol goes for a rebound he gets hit Pj brown should look to a wrestling career, he always hits vlade, pau, lo, and the refs don't see it, oh but they do see the technical for vlade Lakers got a break there. Kobe fouled on that steal and refs let it go. This is the Finals. The Celtics are a tough team. We didn't play well. We won. Well...ugly win. In Kobe's post-game interview, he did not come across to me as very convincing that we can win in Boston. His lack of confidence tells me that that he knows we are in trouble. Especially if we continue to play this bad. It seems like the Lakers haven't even played a decent game yet. I'm pretty confident going into Boston. I'm a realist at our chances of winning the title, BUT I think we could win game 6. so did we defend our home court? Or did Boston just want to win at home? One nice thing about the Finals going back to Boston...at least Mike Breen might not mention that Paul Pierce is from Inglewood again... Hopefully Perkins can't go on Tuesday. Without him there to clog the middle, Lakers can get inside. Lakers live to fight another day.
