Herald Paul Pierce, Celtics get last word on LeBron James, Cavaliers Paul Pierce, LeBron James stir memories of ’88 FL's Take: I watched that '88 game 7 this morning and what a game. Truly a classic as was last night's game. P.J. Brown provides blast from past in 4th FL's Take: Who would have thought that PJ Brown would be the hero of the game. The difference between Pierce's performance and LeBron's was that when it mattered, Pierce's teammates showed up and LeBron's didn't. Paul Pierce steers Celtics into next round Despite heroics, LeBron James reduced to role of spectator Healthy Chauncey Billups set for series FL's Take: It isn't good that the Pistons got so much rest and the Celtics are coming in tired from 2 7 game series in a row. Rondo proved he can out play Billups in their last matchup and hopefully he has learned from that and will do the same in the playoffs. If Pistons play with desperation and fury, they can beat Celtics Globe Pierce stars in his moment of Truth This game was fit for a King, but Cavaliers' James on losing end Double clutch Starting five: Celtics 97, Cavs 92 Various posts from the Globe Celtics blog James: Tough call after hard loss There was no bite to this cast Something is amiss as struggles continue for Allen FL's Take: I really don't know what to make of Ray's slump. The poor guy can't hit anything except for free throws and thankfully he put those in last night. You have to think he is going to go off in one of these games. You can't keep a scorer like him down for good. Brown big down the stretch FL's Take: I knew that Brown was going to help this team when they showed him teaching Leon and Big Baby how to foul and not get caught right after he first got here. But he has done a lot more than mentor the young guys. He was a real factor last night. Great pick up by Danny. MetroWest Daily Celtics 97, Cavaliers 92: Survival! They don't need Boston showboating to rile them up. Just the fact that the Celtics got all the headlines this season and they didn't is reason enough for them to want to prove they are the better team. The Celtics better be ready.
