Herald Celtics finals destination is met, bring on the Lakers Doc Rivers: Best man for Boston FL's Take: I have been as hard on Doc as the next person but I have to give credit where credit is due. He has done a great job this season with the difficult job of managing 3 superstar egos along with bringing along young players and getting them all on the same page. Kudos to Doc. Captain Paul Pierce stays course, reaches desired Celtics goal FL's Take: Pierce deserves a championship. He stuck by the Celtics and never demanded a trade like many of the other prima donna players in the NBA have done. I get sick every time I hear Kobe talking about his teammates being like bothers because before the season he was throwing them under the bus and saying he wanted to play with anyone but them. I really hate Kobe and the Lakers and want more than anything to beat them. I also hate Phil Jackson and don't want him to pass Red Auerbach for the most championship by beating the Celtics. Lots of motivation here. Scal gets back in picture Calhoun’s cancer return stuns Allen Lakers-Celtics? It’s fantastic No excuses, Pistons’ Chauncey Billups gives credit to Celtics Mahorn recalls rivalry Globe Final blow A green dream No doubt about it now FL's Take: It seems as though the Celtics have had to prove themselves over and over again this season. They pass one test and suddenly another one would pop up. One final test and I really hope they pass it. It's back to the future for the Celtics Nothing regular about new-look Lakers FL's Take: The Celtics can't take their success over the Lakers in the regular season as any indication of how they will fare in the playoffs. They are a completely different team. Perk could dominate Bynum, but how will he fare against Gasol? Defense is still the key and if they Celtics play their defense consistently, I believe they can beat them. Now is the time that Thibodeau will earn his check. Posey is huge and does all the things a championship team needs to win. Doc finally played Powe and he delivered.
