Here are comments found around the Pistons' boards during game 6 against the Celtics. When the Pistons fans start talking about how bad the calls are against the Celtics, you know the officials are bad. You have to feel for the Pistons fans. Seems like lately, the Pistons have always been the bridesmaids and never the brides. I have a feeling changes are coming for that team, even if it is only a coaching change.
Some crap going around about Rip going off on Sheed for hugging KG and what not after the game. Odd thing is, Hunter is the one that was talking about it to the media. I would bet the house the Pistons win tonight. Wouldn't even shock me if the blow them out. Game 7 will be fun. I personally wouldn't. I just have a bad feeling about tonight. 98-91 Celtics. Past 6 years, Pistons have never been eliminated from the playoffs at home. Should be a tough one, but the C's are terrible on the road these playoffs and one good road performance doesn't make me feel that's gonna change. The only thing Sheed gets passionate about is the little guys with whistles. He's not passionate about the game, about the playoffs, or about winning. He does nothing to avoid technicals despite the fact that he'll probably get another one tonight and cause us to lose game 7 even if we win game 6 because he'll be suspended. Win or blow-it-up....both sound good. We'll win game 6, and lose in Boston in game 7.... Dumars will say that we just got beat by a better team and will keep the core and Flip Saunders for next season when we lose in the ECFs If the Pistons win game 6 and I think they will, I like their chances in game 7. I don't know if I've seen a so-called championship team that can look so tight and show a lack of composure like this Celtics team. Even KG and Pierce looked like frightened little children when their lead started to disappear. Going into yesterdays game the one thing I was curious about was how the Celts would deal with the pressure of a must win game. I got my answer, they failed miserably. Yesterdays game wasn't a classic, it was a choke job by the men in green. The pressure was on and Boston started folding up like house of cards in the 4th. I liked the Pistons chances if the game is tight going into the 4th because of Bostons lack of composure. Little did I know that they'd still feel the pressure with a 15 point lead in the 4th.
To be honest, not a chance Boston beats LA in the finals. Kobe is better then Pierce and Allen combined. And Boston can't keep up with their depth. The Hawks and Cavs took the Celtics to a game seven, I don't see any reason why the Pistons won't.
It's easy to hate Boston fans. I mean, the Boston Celtics. I want KG to win a ring, but I really hate the Celtics, so I would have to root for the Lakers. I think we're going to get blown out tonight. Just a feeling. It will be an emphatic end of the era that will leave no doubt in Dumars' mind. Boston is seeing this as a must win, and Billups and now Hamilton will have built in excuses if we lose. I expect a Sheed tech and epic meltdown as well, possibly with him having to be physically restrained because it would mean an automatic Game #7 suspension. I just want to win to give Boston two less days of rest when they end up facing the Lakers. I think Rip is faking all of this to throw the Celtics off. Rip goes for 69 points
I hate the NBA Machine. I hate what David Stern has done to this league. I firmly believe there is no way, especially with the Lakers in now, the NBA will allow the Pistons to get past the Celtics. Nothing wrong with Rip's arm. Ray is killing us. Ray, Pierce, and Garnett should never be left open. Ray Allen shooting well = Death of any team that plays Boston. The guy is their X-factor plain and simple. Anyone else think Doc Rivers is the biggest crybaby of all coaches ever? Everytime his team doesn't get a call he is crying at the officials! So was the plan of attack to have our forwards put all of their effort towards neutralizing Garnett, Perkins and Pierce with the goal to make it a backcourt game? Or are they just sucking? Chauncey owns the Celtics guards. I'm sorry, but Perkins reminds me of Bubba from Forrest Gump.
What would be Perkins IQ? My 5 yr old boxer is smarter then him! Observation: He looks like the devil to me, though I've never seen the devil but the devil probably looks like Perkins! Its the eyes. Here's all you really need to know about this game so far: Leon Powe has scored more points than Rasheed Wallace and Tayshaun Prince COMBINED. Cbill starting to abuse point guard boy. These announcer are awful...I never thought I'd say this, but I kinda miss Bill Walton (when conmpared to these clowns). KG picks up his 4th foul. That was not a foul on KG. We caught a break. That was an iffy call, that should have been a 4 point play for Pierce I fail to see the offensive foul there on Pierce. We caught a break. Wow, that's a horrible call on Pierce. Travel maybe but not an offensive foul... Expect Celtics fans to request an asterisk for this win if we get it. Frankly, I'm not sure I wouldn't do the same thing in their shoes. Wow... I'm thinking Stern wants to see a game 7. I don't think I have ever seen a call that bad. How are you going to T up Perkins for saying probably one word, and not T up Sheed for his antics? Wow Ha ha ha. Salvatore has money on the Pistons. Can't blame the refs if we lose this game.. Wow No, please leave Cassell in Garnett pounding his chest like King Kong is so old right now. Pierce eating us like happy meals. I fear Paul Pierce. He can just get whatever he wants. 4 white shirts, 1 green one and the green one grabs the rebound. We were up 10 in this qt. What happened? Well to be fair, we are always up ten before the meltdowns. Yeah, game over!!! Take all your Piston gear back to the store or put it on Ebay!! The Lakers are going to crush these fools Freaking Atlanta Hawks pushed Boston to a 7th game. ATLANTA!!! And they beat us in 6. I'm going to be sick. Boston did deserve to win this game and you can't deny that. When a team wants a game you can sense it and the Pistons did want the game earlier in the 3rd but the Celtics ended up wanting it more. I will cheer for Boston in the Finals. I probably won't watch. I'll take three guys getting their first over a guy getting his fourth. That's my mentality anyway.
We couldn't adjust to Boston's pressure. Perkins killed us too on the glass. I'll admit it's nice to see Pierce in the Finals versus the Kobes. He's a classy guy. Boston played better D. At least this year we can say we lost to an elite team rather than a one superstar joke...
The only two games the Celtics won on the road this postseason and they defeat us!
The Pistons lost because they waited around too long, and then Garnett burned them, hitting down-low, midrange and outside shots. He stepped up big time. I hope he can keep it going in the finals, if so, he deserves a ring.
In my personal opinion, the two best teams in the whole league this season played tonight. This was the ultimate showdown this year, and it could have gone either way. That being said, I think the Finals will be even more difficult for the Celtics, but for extracurricular reasons that I rather not expand on.
I think the Pistons gave it their all, but the Celtics were just better this year. They owned the paint and played better defense overall. Even when they struggled, those two things bailed them out.
