Herald Celtics’ Rajon Rondo brimming with confidence Kevin Garnett pulls out stop Bibby targets Garden’s ‘fair-weather fans’ FL's Take: Like I said in the Thoughts article, the Celtics are averaging only 1781 more fans than last season. Not bad at all. Garnett earns ‘D’ award; Bibby stirs pot Knicks interested in Celtics assistant coach FL's Take: I know that Thibodeau is going to be lured away for a head coaching job somewhere. He has earned it and that is probably the reason he insisted on a 1 year contract last season. But, I still hope we can somehow keep him. He is a huge reason for the Celtics success this season because he is responsible for their defense and their defense is the reason they are the top team. All's right for Dwight, Magic N.O. Way, Mavs FL's Take: Has there ever been a team that has been more disappointing in the playoffs than the Mavs? Globe Honor goes to Garnett This Hawk left the Celtic nest early Bibby takes some jabs at the fans Playoff intensity MetroWest Daily Celtics: C's 'D' a credit to KG Celtics.com KG Calls Defensive Player of the Year award a team effort Drive for 17 Dickerson at Hawks shoot around, live chat during tonight's game FL's Take: The live chat should be fun! They will have the guys from Sports tonight there and it should be interesting as well as a lot of fun. Hoopsworld Keys to game 2 ATL at BOS Amazing is happening Courtside View KG is DPOY and Celtics respond to Bibby's attack FL's Take: I just love Perk's response. I can imagine that there will be a good share of Celtics fans at the Atlanta home games. Worcester Telegram Bibby’s mouth louder than shot KG earns award for D FL's Take: KG deserves the MVP, but we all know he won't get it. This award is probably better anyway because it was the defense that has characterized this team all season and it will be the defense that wins the championship. ProJo Celts credit Rivers for leading turnaround Garnett thanks teammates for superior defense Journal Constitution Celtics following Doc's orders Hawks must hang tough early in game 2 FL's Take: By the same token, the Celtics need to come out strong and put them away early. Celtics aren't going to let Johnson beat them Bibby wants redemption after poor outing in game 1 FL's Take: I do expect a much better showing from Bibby, Smith and Johnson. The Celtics have to be ready for them to all play better and for the adjustments that they make. Bibby cracks on Celtics fans Hawks Johnson recalls rookie year with Celtics Washington Post No sanction for Haywood after hard foul FL's Take: This is definitely a bad decision on the part of Stern and his minions. Haywood made no play on the ball and could have injured LeBron. If there is no suspension it sends the message that you can make a dirty play and get away with it. I hate Washington's tactic of hard fouls every time LeBron goes to the hoop. You can play good defense without trying to hurt a player. I don't want to play Washington for that reason. The team that comes out of that series is going to be plenty tired, that is for sure. Perkisabeast KG wins the gold but Perk may be the reason FL's Take: Perk doesn't get near enough credit for what he does. His efforts don't always show up in the box scores but are just as important as the stats that do. It is often because of Perk's efforts that his teammates succeed in what they do. NY Post Bird: Jackson a good fit for the Knicks FL's Take: Yep, Jackson is a great fit. Hire him and leave Tom Thibodeau alone. Foul finish has Suns down SSNN (Satire) KG apologizes to C's fans for uncharacteristic post season performance Detroit Free Press Billups: Game 2 not a must win FL's Take: This is the difference between the Pistons and the Celtics this season. For the Celtics, they look at every game as a must win. The fact that Chauncey doesn't feel that the second game of a series that they are down 0-1 is a must win is pitiful. If they lose the series, it is this attitude that will be their downfall. Patriot Ledger Bibby comments promise to make crowd even louder Red's Army Rondo's better Connecticut Post Celtics wrong sized and cross trained A Weekend of sports worth remembering Newsday Thibodeau would give Jackson a run for Knicks job Ohio.com Delonte West gets the best of Gilbert Arenas FL's Take: I love seeing Delonte do well. He is what all fans should be.
