Rajon Rondo represented the Celtics very admirably in the Rookie/Sophomore game. He started the game and played the first 10 minutes of each half before Tom Thibodeau switched out the players.
He finished the game with 6 points, 6 assists, 3 rebounds, and 3 steals in 18 minutes. He had two very nifty assists. Once was a bounce pass down the middle of the lane for a dunk. The other was one of those where he shifts the ball like he is going to pass then brings it back to shoot, but this time after bringing it back, he passed it to a cutting teammate. KG was sitting courtside cheering him on, which was nice.
The Sophomores continued their win streak over the Rookies with a 136-109 victory. Daniel Gibson of the Cavs was the MVP. He hit 11 3's in the game for 33 points to tie his teammate LeBron James for second all time scoring in the Rookie Challenge. Amare Stoudamire holds the record at 34 points.
Today, NBA TV was showing highlights of the NBA players and affiliates in the New Orleans community as they built houses, schools, and playgrounds to help the people of New Orleans as they struggle to rebuild the city from Katrina.
