Herald McHale has no regrets FL's Take: The Wolves have a future perennial all star in Al Jefferson. He is the real deal and will be for many years to come. Ryan Gomes is a very solid player. They have expiring contracts coming off the books after this season and also have quite a few draft picks. They have the potential of being a very, very good team in a year or two if they are patient. In the meantime, the Celtics have a 3-5 year window and need to win now. Allen getting legs back under him FL's Take: Tony has been playing very well of late. He is getting his explosiveness back and that is good news. If only his ball handling was better. Cassell rips Globe story Globe Maximum love in Minny Comcast takes it to a higher level Cassell denies wanting to be bought out FL's Take: This is really strange. I don't see Marc Spears making stuff up and he has the interview on tape if it comes down to he said, he said. Maybe Cassell was catching heat from teammates about what he said or maybe Danny decided he doesn't want Cassell after all and so Sam had to save face. Whatever it is, strange goings on. KG going to Minneapolis CelticsBlog Midseason lull my benefit long term Metro Stern's dream may come true - Jeff's column LOY's Place Random thoughts 2/8 Canis Hoopus What's Gomes gonna cost Glen Taylor? FL's Take: I wouldn't mind seeing Gomes back in Boston. With all his family here, he would probably like to come back as well. But he has more opportunity to play in Minnesota and they might offer him more money but then again, he would have a better chance for a ring in Boston. He has a big choice to make after this season. Celtics 17 Rondo moving up the ladder ESPN Although unlikely, Garnett wants to play in Minny FL's Take: Not a surprise, KG has wanted to play in every game he has had to miss but I think he is realizing the seriousness of his injury and knows he needs to be 100% for his own good and the good of the team. Cassell unhappy but not seeking a buyout TrueHoop The Shaquille O'Neal comedy show FL's Take: Shaq has won championships with LA and Miami after being traded. But, does he have enough left in the tank to make a difference in Phoenix and will he fit with Phoenix's up and down style? Only time will tell whether the Suns made a great move or a mistake. Bob Delaney on the state of the referees FL's Take: I have never seen worse officiating overall than we are seeing this season. They are just plain bad every night and in almost every game. With the scandal this summer I would think that they would be trying to redeem themselves by doing a good job but it just hasn't been the case this season. But, with a motivated and healthy KG coming back after the break and the bench coming into their own lately and with Rondo taking his game up a notch, the Celtics have a very good chance to roll right through it. How long does it take for a sprained ankle to heal? It is a good thing, though because it has given Powe a chance to show that he can play.
