Herald C’s stroll through LA, ease way back home FL's Take: The Celtics had an easy time with the Clippers but they were without their starting center and PG. It was nice to see another blowout though. Pruitt has talent and can shoot the ball. I wish we had given him more playing time early. But he is worth hanging onto for the future. Green comfortable with their place in the East FL's Take: I am glad they are comfortable, because I am nervous. Having home court advantage throughout the playoffs should be a priority, especially since the Celtics seem to have trouble playing in Detroit. Detroit is going through the West right now and playing the teams we have just played and every one of them played the games of their lives against us and then promptly went on a losing streak. Not fair. I am hoping though that they will lose at least one or two games out there and the Celtics will beat them when they play on March 5 and we can open up a little space between us. I really dislike the Pistons. They are arrogant and they play dirty. Any moves in guarded condition FL's Take: I can see a possibility where we don't get any of the top guys we are targeting. Barry seems set to stay out West, Cassell could very well choose Cleveland for the starting opportunity, Magloire may go to Dallas. The Celtics don't have much money to offer and other teams can offer more. In Cassell's case, he won't be offered the starting position here but he would get to play with KG again and from what I read, they were close when they both played in Minnesota. We do need to be prepared to come up empty, though. Ainge speaks to Barry Globe Celtics finish strongly Cassell drawing interest FL's Take: Sometimes I think teams go after players just to keep the Celtics from getting them. The Celtics have always been hated throughout the league and it doesn't seem to have changed after their recent 20 year run of bad luck. It really makes you appreciate Paul Pierce all that much more for sticking with the Celtics through the bad times in spite of Walker trying to talk him into going elsewhere. One More Dying Quail It's late February - must be time for basketball Cleveland Plain Dealer College memories come flooding back for West and Jones FL's Take: West and Jones were teammates on the Celtics for a short time also. It puzzles me completely when Doc doesn't play him now that he has proved himself out on the court. Every time he plays, he does good things and needs to get more playing time.
