Herald C's get 2nds helpings FL's Take: The Celtics bench has proved that they are much better than originally thought. Leon Powe and Big Baby are both making huge contributions with KG out and it is easy to forget that both of these guys are second round picks. It is interesting to read that Pruitt can play too. He is 6'4" and if he can step in to handle the back up point guard spot at some time, then the Celtics are in good shape. Globe Bench is a seat of power FL's Take: I love reading how Powe and Davis root for each other. They both bring different abilities to the court and it is great that they can take turns in making an impact on the games. D Up MetroWest Daily News Team record a reflection of RiversFL's Take: Doc has done a good job with this team. He still makes some head scratching decisions but the talent is good enough to overcome them. He is the right coach for this team because he is a player's coach and can mesh the egos of 3 stars and he is also a great motivator. But, I think the record is more a reflection of Tom Thibodeau because it is the defense that has made this team the powerhouse that they are. Without Thibodeau to bring his defensive scheme to the team I don't think they would be near as good. The Jazz lead the SI rankings with Boston 2nd and Detroit 3rd. Stein has Detroit 1st and Celtics second and Jazz all the way down at 4. Hollinger has the Celtics on top with the Lakers #2 and Detroit all the way down at 5. There is no rhyme nor reason to the way they rank these teams. Dallas Morning News In defense of Big Baby FL's Take: Mavs fans really wanted Big Baby in the draft and were upset when the Mavs passed on him and he was picked up by the Celtics. He was definitely a good pick up by Danny. That is one area where Danny has been excellent. Rondo at 21, Big Baby at 35, Powe at 49 and Gomes at 50 all have to be considered steals of the draft.
