FL's Take: I agree that the Celtics are going to need to tone down the trash talk and not let teams get under their skins. Trash talk can backfire. Sometimes it rattles the opponent but often it riles them up and when they start giving it back, it can backfire like it did on Pierce in the Knicks game. Pierce has to learn to keep his cool. KG has to tone down the trash talk. Perk has to stop arguing calls. Teams are going to try this tactic more and more to try to take the Celtics out of the game and the Celtics need to be ready for it.

FL's Take: I don't think the refs overreacted. The game was getting increasingly chippy and Pierce and QRich were going at it. They warned them once and it continued. The fact that Richardson was looking for a fight and challenging Pierce all the way to the locker room tells me that it was reaching the boiling point.

FL's Take: Very good to have Rondo back. The offense just flows more efficiently when he is manning the point. They get the ball up quicker, get into their sets quicker, and Rondo just keeps the team more poised. This kid is just in his second season and is really going to be special if he continues as he has been. My biggest concern is that he takes some very hard hits and like Doc said, he has no padding to buffer those hits. He has already been hurt because of hard hits and hopefully teams won't take that as a strategy of stopping the Celtics.

FL's Take: Perk is doing just what Doc asks him to this season. He has a role. Set picks, Box out. Perk doesn't get points but he sets the picks for his teammates to get them. Perk doesn't always get the rebounds but he is there boxing out and creating space for his teammates to get them. If we don't get the rebounds, it is because his teammates aren't filling their roles. We are fortunate to have a center willing to do the dirty work without the glory to make his team better.
