Ron Artest is one of the toughest matchups for Paul Pierce. Artest is a defensive specialist but can also score at the other end, thus making Pierce work very hard on both ends of the court. Artest will whatever it takes to slow down an opponent and he used a very unorthodox defensive method on Pierce back in 2004 when he was still with the Pacers.
I don't know which was worse, what he did to Pierce or the singing apology. Please note that while pulling his shorts back up, Pierce calmly hit a 3 in Artest's face. Expect Artest to make things difficult for Pierce once again when the Celtics face Sacramento. Unlike in years past, Pierce doesn't have to carry the offensive load on this team. But still, expect Artest to do whatever he can to take Pierce out of the game.
