Celtics Slip One in Power Rankings

ESPN Power Rankings are out and the Celtics slipped from #2 to #3 and the Suns moved up from #3 to #2. Here is their reasoning for moving Phoenix up a spot already.
How did they move up a spot already? Marion's September trade demand was quickly overshadowed by Grant Hill's promising start in orange and yet another impressive comeback from a knee surgery by Amare. It's interesting to look at the top 5 teams and their records from last season. Spurs in the top spot had a 58-24 record, Suns at 61-21, Celtics 24-58, Mavs 67-15, Rockets 52-30. Most of them lost fewer games last season than the Celtics won. The Celtics biggest turn around previous to this season was from 29 wins in the '78-79 season to 61 wins in the the '79-80 season. The difference that year was Larry Joe Bird. That was a gain of 32 wins from one year to the next. I fully believe that this team will break that record and have an even bigger gain in wins.
Here is what they had to say about the Celtics in the Rankings:
Every vet free agent or buyout recipient (like Juwan Howard) has interest in joining the Celts because they have an opening or two in their rotation. So you watch: Boston's bench won't look so bad by season's end. I don't think our bench looks too bad now. We are one big man away from having a legitimately deep bench. Exciting times for Celtics fans to be sure.
