According to the Boston Herald, the Celtics have signed guard Eddie House to a one year contract to back up Rajon Rondo at the point. House is a 6'1" guard who is more of a scoring point guard than a playmaking guard.
The Celtics also signed Jackie Manuel, a 6-5 wing player who played for Los Angeles in the NBDL last season, and is considered a solid defensive player. He was named the ACC’s defensive player of the year two seasons ago while at North Carolina.
With the point guard and wing positions shored up somewhat, the Celtics need to find a back up center. According to the article, PJ Brown is seeking the full MLE at this time and if so, would be too costly for the Celtics who are seeking to split the MLE among a couple of players. The team is checking into Dikembe Motumbo.
