This morning, Doc was on with Dennis and Callahan on WEEI. Some of the high points of the interview were: -Doc expects a small to medium deal yet to come rather than another big deal. We still need a back up PG and a big. -Ratliff is healthy and playing well right now but we don't know how long that will last. -Al is not going anywhere and he expects Al to be a Celtic for a long, long time. He and Al are close and he told Al that they would do everything they could to shelter him. -Al, Rondo, Gomes and the other young guys are working very hard. -Big Baby Davis is very quick for his size. Like Barkley you want him to keep his size while staying in shape. -Pruitt is a replacement for Delonte for the time being -They aren't sure who all will be in Vegas. They are looking at undrafted players. Green, Rondo and Powe should be there. Click here to listen to the interview.
Then, Dale and Holly had an interview with Ray Allen. I was impressed with him. He is ready to come in and do whatever it takes to win. He will defer to Paul as the leader but yet, I believe he will be a leader in his own way. A very classy guy. Here are the highlights of the interview:
-Seattle has been getting younger and he didn't fit there anymore. He looks at Boston as a very good situation. -New England is his favorite part of the country and he has family there. -He feels that we look at 32 as old because of all the kids who have come in to the league at 19. He feels he has many years of good basketball ahead of him. -He takes very good care of himself. He is an avid cycler and runs. He stays away from fried foods and eats right. Junk food for him is blueberries. He likes salmon. (He and Tony will have to dine together). He loves Boston Clam Chowder and feels that Boston is the only place to eat it. -Nobody is guaranteed a championship. Everybody has the same chance going in. It starts with how hard you work in training camp and how you become a team. Click here to listen to the interview.
