West to Step Down as GM of Grizzlies

According to ESPN, Jerry West is stepping down as the GM of the Memphis Grizzlies. It seems like a strange time to step down with the Grizzlies close to getting a top pick in the draft which is sure to become a franchise player. He came out of retirement to take over the Grizzlies and his contract is up at the end of this year. He may just be tired of all the hassles. With the Grizzlies for sale and the situation there very much in flux, I can't say as I blame him.
I know there are many who are calling for Ainge to step down as well but I feel that Danny has done a good job with this team and has brought them a long way from where we were when he took over. We have a very exciting team with a ton of potential. This summer will be the most important off season in recent times and I expect Danny to make the right moves for this franchise in the draft as well as considering any trades that come up. The Celtics could very well come in next season as a surprise contender.
