It's Official - Oden to Enter Draft

Sports Illustrated is reporting that it is now official that Greg Oden is entering the NBA draft this season. Now that Oden and Durant have done their part and have entered the draft, it is up to the ping pong balls to give us one of these two franchise players.
Mike Conley, Jr and Daequan Cook, both OSU freshmen also will make themselves available for the draft but will not hire an agent and so will still have the option of returning to school. Oden is expected to sign Mike Conley, Sr as his agent.
"This is a very tough decision for me," Oden said in a statement released by Ohio State. "I love OSU and love being a Buckeye, but I also have a great opportunity to take my game to the next level and compete with the best players in the world. I've discussed this with family, friends and Coach (Thad) Matta, and I feel the time is right." History has been unkind to the Celtics from the death of Len Bias in 1986 to the deaths of Red and DJ this season along with the 312 player games missed due to injury this season. The Celtics are way overdue for some luck. And so, we can only wait on pins and needles for the result of the May 22 draft and hope that one of the top 2 picks will be ours. |
