This from Shira's Notebook in the Globe:

Gerald Green has been selected to participate in the All-Star Slam Dunk contest, an industry source confirmed yesterday. The official announcement will come Monday, and Green said he did not want to comment until then. Green is the only player representing the Celtics during All-Star festivities.

This is good news if it is true (which I expect it is). I can't wait to see what he comes up with for contest dunks. I hope he does really well because this team could use a bright spot right about now.

Speaking of bright spots, the Globe also has a Gallery up with bright spots from each of the losses. Losing is discouraging, it isn't fun, but there are bright spots and I truly believe that they are going to put it all together one of these days. It may not be until we have a new coach, but they will do it!
