January 17, 2007 Celtics.com is reporting that West has pronounced himself 100% healthy and went through a complete practice today and felt good afterwards. He is hoping to return to the lineup on Friday at home against Sacramento.
Wally didn't practice today but did do some shooting after practice and did some cardio as well. He hopes to practice tomorrow and if all goes well may make his return on Friday as well. Knowing he came back too early the last time, he will be waiting for the ok from the medical staff.
The news on Pierce wasn't quite as good. He is still wearing the protective boot on his foot. He was originally projected to be out 2-3 weeks and today marks 4 weeks since he last played.
The trade season has started off with a bang with an 8 player trade between Golden State and Indiana. Indy finally got someone to take Stephen Jackson off their hands along with Al Harrington, Josh Powell and Sarunas Jasikevicius. In return, Indiana receives Mike Dunleavy, Troy Murphy, Ike Diogu and Keith McLeod.
Danny has made a trade every year prior to this and with the trade action starting, Celtics fans will be on the edge of their seats waiting to see if Danny is going to try to get into the action this season. Rumors are swirling about Gasol, KG, Kidd, Carter, AK47, and others on the block. Stars are out there to be had. Will Danny offer enough to get one? Will we regret giving up our young players just as they are starting to come around? Stay tuned.
Speaking of our young guys. Check out the new Rookie Rankings on NBA.com. Rajon Rondo is ranked #1 for the week.
1. Rajon Rondo (BOS) 11.3 PPG, 3.7 RPG, 3.3 APG, 2.00 SPG, .476 FG% in 3 games What amazes me is that Doc doesn't play Rondo or Powe unless he absolutely has to and when they get on the floor they produce and do great things. I am afraid that when West comes back, Rondo will be relegated to the bench again. And when Scal is cleared to play we won't even see Powe for the 8 minutes a game he gets now. I just don't understand not playing these two.
