New Year's Odds and Ends

January 1, 2006 I'd like to wish all my fellow Greeniacs a very Happy New Year. Watching my beloved Celtics lose wasn't the way I wanted to ring in the New Year, but here's hoping that going out like a lamb will have them coming into 2007 like a lion. Here's what is going on around the Celtic's nation today:
Both the Herald and the Globe have recaps of last night's game. See my article below for my thoughts and recap of the game.
Bulpett's Notebook discusses Doc's reaction to the new/old ball and the fact that the Celtics are the only team playing back to back games with two different basketballs. He also mentioned that Wally is set to start until the team gets back to full strength.
Bulpett also has an article on Telfair's return to Portland tonight. Telfair says it isn't a big thing and that he just wants to play well for himself and his team, not to show Portland they made a mistake.
The Globe reports that Danny has joined the team for the rest of the road trip. In spite of the losing, he is finding positives in the play of Tony, Al, and Gerald. Doc is saying he is disappointed with Green and Danny says he is playing great. Maybe they should get on the same page. Also, Pierce will have an MRI on his foot when he returns to Boston to determine how quickly his foot is healing.
The Green Room has a fun look at Calendars that the Celtics should get for New Years. I like the Rondo and Powe Calendars best. Only the Others know why Powe isn't getting playing time.
Join us tonight on Celtics Green for the play by play of the Blazers game. Hopefully we can start the New Year with a win. But only if Doc realizes who to start and who to play.
Discuss this topic on the Celtics Green Forums!
