Sixers beat the Defenseless Celtics

December 22, 2006 The Celtics kiddie corps played hard but came up short, literally. We let them get to the basket too easily and we were very weak on defense. We couldn't get stops all night long and they had a big advantage in the paint. Our tenacious defense of the win streak was nowhere to be seen. We are also turning the ball over way too much with 16 tonight.
There were some bright spots, though. Green started in place of the injured Pierce and scored 20 points to go with 9 rebounds, 1 assist, and 2 steals. He played with great energy and made some great plays. Al scored 20 points and pulled down 14 rebounds along with 3 assists. Powe came in and played good defense in the paint. He had 3 rebounds and 1 point on a free throw in just over 3 minutes of play. Can someone tell me why this kid isn't this kid getting more minutes?
We had some good news from Dickerson during a time out. Perk has been cleared by the doctors to play on Wednesday. Wally is healing quicker than expected and may be able to go on Wednesday as well. That certainly would be a very welcome turn of events. Hopefully the rest of the team will find some defense between now and the game in Denver. If not, it is going to be a very long road trip.
