October 28, 2006 Today's big news is the house cleaning to end the bacterial infection that affected both Pierce and West. We are all anxious for the season to start. The 15 man roster is set, all Celtics seem to be healthy now except Theo Ratliff, and Doc is deciding who will play and who will sit. Just 4 more days and i can't wait! Here is what is going on around the Celtics Nation today. The Herald Notebook reports on the bacterial infection and the resulting house cleaning. Glad they are catching this thing before we had more players out with it. They also report that Tony is happy that his option has been picked up but realizes he still has a lot of work to do. Kandi is with his daughter who has pneumonia. The Globe has almost the same report this morning with the addition that Al was launching 3's after practice. I guess Doc still wants his 3 point shooting center. I sure hope not because we need centers who play with their backs to the basket, not out on the 3 point line. NBA.com has Sebastian Telfair in their On the Spot column. Telfair has a fresh start in Boston and seems ready to make the most of it. He has played well especially in the last 4 or 5 games. I think Rondo has the tools to be the better PG though I believe he will eventually take over the starters spot. Hoopsworld discusses the final cuts and the rotation dilemma that Doc faces with the team. We are loaded with young and talented players and Doc has to decide which will play and which will sit. Celtics 17 has a piece that puts Doc on trial. The debate rages on both sides of the issue. Some like Doc and most don't. In my opinion, he hasn't proved yet that he is a good coach. His in-game decisions have cost us games, his rotations were puzzling at best, and he hasn't seen the need to stress defense in practice. I am hoping he will prove me wrong this season and correct a lot of his mistakes as I don't think he is going anywhere in the near future.
