Plantar Fasciitis - Rondo Has It

| In listening to NE Sports Tonight, I was surprised to hear Tanguay and Felger discussing the fact that Rondo has Plantar Fasciitis. Bosh sat out with this in last night's game and at first I thought it was referring to him. But listening to the show again, they are definitely discussing Rondo. Felger said that one piece of news that Dickerson relayed to them is about the Plantar Fasciitis. Tanguay said that he also has it but that it is a bit more serious for Rondo to have it. He also said that with Plantar Fasciitis you have to continue stretching your foot and that it can nag you like a ham string. They contributed Rondo's less than Rondo-like perfomance tonight to the foot injury.
The website on this condition says this: Symptoms usually resolve more quickly when the time between the onset of symptoms and the beginning of treatment is as short as possible. If treatment is delayed, the complete resolution of symptoms may take 6-18 months or more. Treatment will typically begin by correcting training errors, which usually requires some degree of rest, the use of ice after activities, and an evaluation of the patient’s shoes and activities. For pain, nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (e.g. aspirin, ibuprofen, etc.) may be recommended. Treatment usually requires some degree of rest. I am wondering why we hadn't heard anything about this before. Will Rondo have to spend time sitting out? I am sure there is more to come but for now, it gives us something more to consider. Heinsohn said that this condition basically ended his career as he spent his entire last year battling it.
I wonder if this is why they have been talking about keeping Allan Ray? Ray can play PG and could fill in if Rondo has to be out for a period to rest his foot.
Update: Both Justin from CelticStuff Live and Jeff from CelticsBlog are checking their sources to verify. I for one would love to hear that they got it wrong on the show. I will update you when any new information becomes available.
UPDATE (6:48 PM): Tanguay and Dickerson were talking about the health of the team and Tanguay said as we reported last night, Rondo is suffering from plantar fasciitis but has played very well. So this adds a bit of confirmation to the story.
