Pittsnogle and Akingbala Placed on Waivers

The first cuts have been made. After Doc said yesterday that the cuts would come today, the paper reported that Danny wanted to wait to get a look at Luke Jackson. It looks like they decided to make 2 cuts today anyway and wait a bit for the 3rd cut, which could be Jackson or Ray. Here is what Celtics.com had to report:

- The Celtics waived undrafted free agents Kevin Pittsnogle and Akin Akingbala following today's practice at the Sports Authority Training Center at HealthPoint in Waltham.

Pittsnogle appeared in three exhibition games for the Celtics, playing 11 minutes and scoring three points combined in his three outings. Akingbala appeared twice, once against the Cleveland Cavaliers in the opening preseason contest, where he scored three points in five minutes of action. He also played the final 17 seconds against the New York Knicks on Tuesday.

Well, its about time. But now, with Pitts, Akingbala and DJ gone, that leaves us with little to no room for injuries.

Is there a trade coming up? I hope so. Doesn't look like Theo is going to be healthy for an 82 game schedule.
