Odds and Ends on the Day before Training Camp

October 2, 2006 Not much going on in the news today. But that isn't all that surprising. After all, how many ways can you say the team has great potential but a lot of quesions? Today is Media day so hopefully we will get reports from all the media outlets either later today or tomorrow. The season is finally upon us and I couldn't be more excited!!
The Herald is the only paper with an article today and they list out the questions that we have with each of the players going into training camp. Lots of questions and hopefully we will start to get answers with the official opening of training camp tomorrow.
The Globe doesn't have an article but have a photo gallery of Doc at home that goes with their article about Doc and his devotion to his family that they printed yesterday.
CelticsStuff Live brings our attention to a thread on Real GM
that gives us a bit more info from the season ticket holders' picnic. This quote caught my attention:
Calder wrote: Do you think this is the year that everything comes together on the defensive end? I mean, you’ve got some young guys, but also good perimeter defenders and rebounding bigs Tony Brown wrote: yes our defensive strength is out on the perimeter Calder wrote: so does that mean you’ll be doing a lot of switching and trapping (he started nodding his head before I could finish) or will you be playing any man-to-man? Tony Brown wrote: We’ll be switching and trapping and using pressure defense Be still my heart. They are talking about playing defense. And not just playing defense but trapping and pressure defense. Now, if they can do it and not just talk about it, that would be excellent. Check out the Real GM thread for some good pictures as well.
The Season Previews continue today with the New Jersey Nets You can still catch the Celtics' previews on CelticsBlog, Celtics 17, and Loy's Preview below. You can check out all the previews here.
