Celtics End Practice Early

Mark Murphy reports that Doc was so disgusted by what he saw in practice today that he sent the team packing off to the weight room an hour early.
“It wasn’t one of our better ones,'’ he said. “But I just had to end it.'’
To illustrate, Rivers took an example from his other favorite sport.
“When you’re playing golf, you can sit on the range and hit bad shots all day,'’ he said. “Well, you can practice bad habits all day, too.'’
This comes as the coaching staff is trying to implement 3 new defensive schemes that weren't in use in the preseason.
“The tough part is when you have so many guys who can play a lot of different positions - as we have - that you have a lot more to go over,'’ he said.
This is rather disturbing that with only 4 days to go until our season opener, the team practices so poorly that Doc has to stop practice. Hopefully the players will take it to heart and come more ready to practice tomorrow.
It encouraging that Doc is actually working on defense in practice. I hope one of the schemes is to defend the pick and roll.
