| Today's Herald reports that Delonte is back in town but he is not participating in work outs with his teammates because of a sore back.
“He’s got a back injury now, but when you play basketball like Delonte, everyone has back problems,” said Ainge. When I hear back injury I see Larry Bird lying on his stomach on the floor during his last year or so in the league. I think of McGrady playing 47 games last season. In other words, I get worried. Hopefully, it is just a muscle pull or something as they don't give any specifics as to what the problem is. But since Danny doesn't feel it is a long term thing, hopefully it is just minor and he will be back to throwing his body around recklessly by training camp.
Kind of lost in the bad news of West's bad back is some very good news:
As Al Jefferson went through his first full workout yesterday after ankle surgery, Danny Ainge insisted West’s problem is not a long-term issue. Big Al went through his first full work out yesterday. I must say, once they found the bone chips and dealt with them, Al's rehab has gone very quickly. Let's hope this is the first of many very productive workouts leading to a very productive season.
