Rumors are Heating Up

The Salary Cap has been set at 53.135 million for next year. This represents an increase of 3.6 million dollars. Today is the first day that free agents can sign and many deals had to wait until today to be finalized or even announced. There are reports on several message boards that there is a 6 team blockbuster trade going down today. It was supposed to have begun with a report from a Sacramento sportscaster and there have even been reports that it was reported on WEEI. Several posters mentioned hearing it on Sacramento sports radio. I saw just one poster mention that Simmons confirmed it on WEEI. The next 24 hours are going to be suspenseful and possibly eventful... time will tell.

All of this is unsubstantiated but just putting the rumors out there. Loy's Place will update you when and if anything goes down that involves the Celtics.

Nothing has happened as of yet on the first day of free agent signings (big trades, I mean). But something could happen at any time now, and we may be in for a surprise.

Hopefully Ainge does not give in to Billy King and give up Jefferson and/or Green. I think Green can be a better player than Richard Jefferson, possibly in the Jason Richardson level in 2 ~ 3 years.
