Pierce and Celts to Talk Extension

Danny Ainge expects to meet soon with Paul Pierce to begin the dialogue on a contract extension for the Celtics captain. And while Antoine Walker’s recent comments that Pierce may need to go elsewhere to compete for an NBA title didn’t make the organization happy, Ainge doesn’t believe the words will affect the club’s relationship with its best player.

“I’m not going to comment on that stuff,” Ainge said. “I think Paul is happy in Boston, and I guess Antoine still has some issues with us. But all my conversations with Paul have been very positive. He’s said he wants to continue his career in Boston.”[More]

Do we give Pierce max money?

If we do, we'll have to wonder how much we'll have to pay Jefferson and Green, in addition to keeping Delonte, Perkins, Gomes, and Allen happy.
