It is a pity that we have to read the Philly papers to find out that JayWill is going to work out for the Celtics. It seems like the Boston papers should be reporting news like this for the Celtics' fans hungry for news about their team.

A source indicated that Williams was scheduled to work out tomorrow for the New Jersey Nets and Monday for the Boston Celtics. Questions have remained about whether Williams has been able to regain his explosiveness and lateral quickness. He was scheduled to meet yesterday with Sixers president/general manager Billy King. Funny how we all have to be on the look out for Celts news from other cities papers! Hey, that's how you get the best trade rumors anyway. That is how I got the bit about Chi-town interested in the Luol Deng/Pierce trade rumor. Still, quite redicules to get this bit from PHILLLY!?
What?! A Pierce/Deng trade rumor? How much legs does this rumor have? I can see why Ainge would want Deng--he's a terrific team player who is as versatile as they come. A real intelligent player. But there's no way we trade Pierce straight up for Deng. They'll have to throw in Hinrich and a draft pick as well.
As for Jay Williams, I hope we beat out all the other teams and get him to play for us. Even if he's just a backup, I'd be happy to grab him. With more time, he'll get stronger and recover from his injury, and his game will hopefully improve. At the very least, he's more seasoned than Orien Greene and can serve as our steady backup PG. At the best case, he can beat out the competition and be our starting PG. All the recent reports of his workouts are fascinating. He's more than held his own against this year's top PG prospects.
