Gomes Visits Perkins, School For The Blind

Compared to anyone he's a tall, tall man, but compared to the elementary school students at the Perkins School for the Blind, Boston Celtics star forward Ryan Gomes was a giant.

The 6-foot-7 forward must have felt like Gulliver, handing out an $8,000 grant to Perkins officials with Fox Sports Net host Greg Dickerson inside a Lilliputian-sized gymnasium Thursday afternoon.

Perkins received the grant as part of the "Every Body Move" program for the 2006-07school year. The state program has handed out 26 such grants to schools throughout the commonwealth promoting physical education along the way. [more...]
