Gerald Green remembers the bus. Or more specifically, the bus ride. That five-hour mission he took as a member of the Fayetteville Patriots to Roanoke, Va., to hone his skills in a game against a team called the Dazzle.
I popped in a bunch of late season games this past few days to keep my Celtics jones going, and its hard not to get excited about Gerald. This kid has confidence in himself, and you can see it in his face. He's got a good looking jumper already and his 18 foot jumpers seem effortless. He's got a variety of moves off the dribble and he's a creative penetrator. I seen him drive the right baseline after pump faking his man up in the air, take the ball in his left hand, held the ball up high to get his next defender to bite, did a complete circle with the ball in the air, and then attempted to lay the ball off the glass with his left hand. That's not something you see many players attempting because of its difficulty, especially not a rookie out of high school. But he looked very smooth doing it and you can tell by his body motion that he can make those types of shots. He missed that one, but he's very capable of scoring off of creative plays like that.
