Robert Parish now believes he saw the era end in a flash during training camp in October of 1987.
“Larry (Bird) was working out in camp, and he got undercut,” Parish said of his fellow Hall of Famer. “He had his legs knocked out from under him and he landed on his back. He was never the same. It was the same thing with Kevin (McHale). He turned his ankle from a jump hook, and broke his foot.” [More...] source: boston herald
Excellent picture Loy! So fitting for the article!! It does drive a dagger in the heart though. I have been watching the Classic games on NBA TV this week and a couple from my Celtics history DVD's and I sure do miss those days. While I feel that we are heading in the right direction and are going to win another championship with this team, I don't think there will ever be a frontline like that one again. They were something special!!
