Dear Green-iacs!
Let's face it, it doesn't get any more quiet this time of year. The buzz of the Draft is slowly building momentum. That's when we come running back to our home here at Celtics Green to a furor of last minute mocks and projections! So, what do we do with ourselves before the words, "...and with the seventh pick in the 2006 NBA Draft, the Boston Celtics Select...(insert your fantasy pick here)"?

Are We There Yet? by FLCeltsFanJune 8, 2006
We have all heard arguments on both sides of the state of the Celtics. The pessimists say that we are floundering around and mired in mediocrity. The koolaid drinkers say that we are on the verge of the next championship. But where exactly do the Celtics lie? My guess is somewhere in between. We aren't there yet but are building toward the goal.
We do have some weaknesses and Danny should be able to address them this summer via the lottery pick and free agency. Let's look at each position and see where we stand.
At the point we have Delonte, Greene, Dickau and in a pinch Tony Allen. Delonte stepped up last year and did much better than anyone thought he would. He played decent defense, although he could use some improvement. He was planning on spending some time this summer working with John Lucas. Delonte is a hard worker and I believe he will come back even better next year and will have also developed his right hand. Greene showed flashes of being able to run the team last year and was one of our better defenders.
I still have hopes that he will turn into a decent back up for us. If Danny picks up a PG in the draft or via free agency, Danny should send Greene to the DLeague for some seasoning. Dickau was a disappointment last year even before the injury. His defense was so weak that he was a liability out there. He came in handy as a designated free throw shooter but now that we have Wally, he is definitely expendable. Danny needs to find another PG this summer, preferably a veteran. Jay Williams would be ideal. Speedy Claxton or Brevin Knight would also be possibilities. We need to be 3 deep with quality players at the PG spot. [More...] source:
