Excellent read, FL12. Really good team assessment and right on the mark on all the players. Though I do give more love to Scal and Dickau than most fans. I think in the right roles, they can become more accepted among Celtics fans.

I have little doubt that Big Al will come back in a big way next year. He'll bring tons of buzz and excitment again, like he did in his rookie year. It was disappointing to hear how many fans were willing to give up on him and trade him away because of how ineffective he was this past year. He's got just as much impact potential as Chris Bosh, but whereas Bosh attacks with his jumper, Al will attack with his post up game.

I concur that Gerald will take a big step next year. The final 2 weeks of the season, Gerald got a lot of playing time, and when he looked to score, he was able to do it fairly easily. As a scorer off the bench, he will be able to showcase his offensive firepower like Ricky did for us two years ago. Gerald already has a smooth jumper which he can get off of virtually any defender because of how quickly, and how high he gets off the ground on his jumper.

Derren, I agree that in the right role Veal and Dickau can help us. I don't think Doc used Veal correctly last year. And Dickau may be able to be a back up where his defense won't be so critical.

FL, Doc needs to have Scal stay inside the arc, and not try to penetrate too often. I like Scal because he's a hustle player, especially on offensive rebounds. He comes crashing in and often gets his hands on balls that are already secured by the opposition. He plays with heart--its just that sometimes he tries too hard.

As for Dickau, he needs to be used for his outside shooting, and not for his PG skills. When he's in the game, Doc needs him to be aggressive with his shooting.
